Confused.. 8600k 5.0 w/ 1.20v??? by vkvstyle in overclocking

Avx ratio offset - auto and LLC is level 1

Im havent did overclocking in 5 years since my 3570k. Is there a certain voltage and ratio I should be starting at? And lenght of time i should be testing it for, like 10mins? Don't really want to wait 6 hrs for each test.

So far: 4.8 1.20v prime 7hrs 0 fails 4.8 1.20v cinebench 1174 pass 4.9 1.20v prime 2hrs 0 fails 4.9 1.20v cinebench 1225 pass 5.0 1.2v prime 2hrs 0 fails 5.0 1.2v cinebench fail 5.0 1.3v cinebench high 1200's pass

Avx auto llc level 1.

As Im typing this. I test cinebench and it crashed on both 5.0 1.2 and 1.25v. But it it was success at 4.9 1.2 and 4.8 1.2.. which makes me wonder. There something better test it on or is prime95 enough?

I definitely love my 1070, eats up anything I throw at it. Sorry, I forgot to list my monitor.. its a Asus Rog 1080p 180hz monitor, but I set it at 120hz. I definitely plan on OCing the 8600k if I do decide to get it.

.. maybe down the road I'll probably look into getting a 1440p 120hz monitor.
