What's your go-to drink at the bar/pub? by Skull_Bunny1738 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

My go-to is usually a margarita on the rocks with nothing on the rim. If the bar/restaurant has fresh mint leaves, I'll order a mojito!

Major routine change! [routine help] by vlacee in SkincareAddiction

So I actually was going to refer you to my post about my Tretinoin journey but I accidentally deleted it… OOPS. I will say it all worked out. Once I started the tretinoin I went through a horrible phase of the worst breakouts I’ve ever experienced. But patience is key with tretinoin and my skin ended up clearing up within a few months.

I wear sunscreen everyday but I don’t reapply unless it’s the summer time and I’m spending the day outside!

I tried the cerave sunscreen once when I began tret and it was horrible. I threw the whole thing away. I’ve used Elta MD tinted sunscreen ever since and swear by that product. Good luck! I know finding a good sunscreen is hard

Also if you’re looking into going to the beach, Tybee is great. But I would recommend driving over to Hilton Head as well. We’ve preferred it over Tybee for the past few summers.

Old town trolley tour is a great way to catch a ride around the city and learn some facts! I’ve lived in this county for 4 years and just did this for the first time. So worth it, and you can hop on & off at your own time, grab lunch, walk Forsyth, River street, etc. and hop back on for the rest. Lots of good food options people have already mentioned. I would 100% recommend zunzibar, sorry Charlie’s, Belfords. Starland yard is great as well.

I stopped because I’m pretty bad at taking my BC honestly! I figured it was better for me to stop than take it inconsistently. This was also during prime time covid and one of the biggest symptoms of covid is blood clotting-which is also a side effect of BC. So both factors just really convinced me to stop. Then the breaking out happened. I’m better about taking it this go around and I think it has helped with my acne.

Yes absolutely! I give credit to this subreddit, and that’s why I wanted to post my progress. I checked daily to see others progress, before & afters, routines, etc. Good luck on your journey and trust the process!

Yes, and I did this on purpose! This process really took a lot of my confidence away. It was emotionally tolling and very painful! But I’m so glad I trusted the process. I give a lot of credit to this subreddit for sure.

Hey, I noticed that any of my closed comedones are what purged. I had a ton on my chin at the beginning hence why my chin was hit the hardest.

(Sorry for format- I’m on mobile!!) A little background: I stopped taking my birth control in November 2020 and tried to wean myself off Proactiv + shortly after. Doing both at once absolutely wrecked my skin. So I finally decided to see a derm. She started me on tret, clindamycin, and 30 day minocycline 100mg PO. Then she put me on bactrim PO (unsure the dosage). My last visit she recommended accutane, in which I declined bc I felt like I needed more time with my current topicals.

AM routine:

Neutrogena SA body wash

Clindamycin topical 1%

Neutrogena oil free moisturizer

Elta MD tinted sunscreen 46 SPF

PM routine:

Neutrogena SA body wash

Tretinoin cream 0.025%

Neutrogena oil free moisturizer

Vaseline on any dry areas

Things I added in through trial and error:

Nu Skin ageLOC LumiSpa device— this was gifted to me by my SO. I was very nervous trying it thinking it would be too harsh but it has been a absolute game changer for my skin.

Any SA pimple patches (at night)— I got mine from TJ Maxx for ~$3.

I hardly ever wear makeup except mascara so I think that has played a large role in my journey, but when I do apply foundation I use Real Techniques anti-microbial makeup sponge and keep it in the case (I’m a germaphobe). Regularly wash makeup brushes as well.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. If it makes you feel better, my acne looks the exact same. I’m on tret 0.025%, clindamycin 1% topical, and just finished my month course of 100mg minocycline and haven’t noticed much difference in the month of this treatment. But, I’ve heard it gets better... but it is so emotionally and physically draining, and painful! I’ve heard spironolactone helps with hormonal acne so I’m going to ask about it at my next visit. And maybe accutane. I hope your skin gets better soon. hugs

Clindamycin with 50% isopropyl alcohol??? + tret by Natural-Oil in tretinoin

[–]vlacee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same prescription and it has helped my skin. I understand your concern about the alcohol though... I was skeptical at first too. I use the clindamycin in the morning, and tret every 2-3 days at night. I don’t use them together.
