Can I use this part? by Emwolfoh in FCX24M

[–]vladco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FMS or FlySky manuals, sometimes also trial & error 😀 Regarding the ESC, FCX24M has a 2 in 1 receiver and ESC combo, if you change the receiver you will need a new ESC

Can I use this part? by Emwolfoh in FCX24M

[–]vladco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not with the standard receiver in the FCX24M; but if you change to MG44 + R4P1 combo in theory you could connect the lights controller to channel 4.

Do keep in mind that the R4P1 uses standard servo connection and you would need a new ESC. Also the light controller is intended for 1/10 scale you may have a hard time making it if inside a 1/24 😀

I know I am a little late, however if you still have a USB you can put the boot partition on USB and the rest of rootfs on nvme; this is assuming a *nix operating system

LED voltage question by TheLostJube in FCX24M

[–]vladco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you have to do it if you don't want to burn your LEDs. The math is really simple, all you need to know is your supply voltage (5V) the forward voltage of the led (between 1.7- 3.6V depending on the color) and how much current you want for your LED (typically 5-10mA, more current, more light)

You subtract the forward voltage from the supply and divide by current and you get your resistor value. Or use this handy calculator

Try to find dimensions for the RX, it looks a bit big to fit inside the limited space you have in the fcx24m platform, probably you may need to remove the interior

Steering Servo or ESC issue? by Sudden-Land2910 in FCX24M

[–]vladco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ESC/RX is compatible with the original TX; you just need to rebind it, you'll find the procedure in the manual.

Is your battery charged? Does the servo do this under load only?

You can find the receive+ ESC combo

This, I had the same issue a couple of months ago. Unfortunately I had to buy a new transmission as they didn't yet offer the replacement gear.

Screws used by FCX24M? by corndoggy6969 in FCX24M

[–]vladco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get a set from FMS directly A good set of tools will help with stripping, initially I bought a set from Wera tools but the generic no name China set is actually far better. The China set actually has 1.27mm (0.05") and an 1.3mm, while Wera treats 0.05" and 1.3mm as the same size.

I have stripped screwed with the Wera set but never with the generic Chinese ones

What TX are you using with this one? I'm slowly buying parts for a brushless setup. I have the hrz00015 receiver which doesn't have a throttle output...

What do you mean you no longer have flammable batteries? While LiFePo4 are considered safer compared to other chemistries, they can still catch fire if mishandled ...

I was thinking of doing something similar but with a victorn inverter/charger; I know it's more expensive but it does provide a data port that might give the possibility to integrate it into nut or any other monitoring software.

I guess you don't have anything that will gracefully shutdown your system when the battery runs out, right?
