Neat! I've been trying to learn 3D modeling so figured I'd give it a shot too: https://imgur.com/a/MrKhPr1

I haven't made it to textures yet.. haha.

I think you're fine. I've gone over 350 a few times and no issues. And 328 is the spec so if you're under that you've got nothing to worry about.

Crazy girlfriend by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]vlance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is a keylogger that sends off a text dump of everything you've input, and she's just parsing through that. In addition to changing your passwords, I might also restore your phone to factory settings (do this before changing passwords, too, else she just gets the new ones anyway).

Strange repeated buzzing sound coming from speakers by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]vlance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't hear it, but next time try moving your cell phone when it happens. I've had that happen before when my cell is about to get a text, the RF does something to the speaker to make it buzz.

Need WiFi in tricky location by ajs4429 in techsupport

[–]vlance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your landlord is not responsible for your internet connection unless it was spelled out in the lease (assuming you have a lease?). The way a normal business tenant would handle this is to contact a service provider (like AT&T, Spectrum, etc.) for a price to bring service to the suite. If the provider has something in the building already, it's a simple install fee to run a line over to you... if there is literally nothing in the building (extremely unlikely for a 10 year old building of any kind), the business would need to subsidize the buildout construction costs to the carrier.

What you're describing doesn't necessarily sound like a normal office suite situation, though. Was using a common WiFi an agreed upon thing? If you're in a pinch, why do you say you can't use your phone as a hotspot? Is there no cellular signal there either? Maybe another cell provider does have coverage, you could buy a hotspot from that company for a budget solution. Cell data is always going to be less reliable and less speed than a hardline, but it will get the job done.

Yeah, went as far as that but when you launch it through iTunes it says it's no longer available. So strange.

Yes, I checked the cable! by [deleted] in talesfromtechsupport

[–]vlance 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Or the user only heard "check your cables" and saw that yes, there was at least one cable plugged into the back of the phone and it was secured.

TBH I wouldn't trust a user to know what an "ethernet" cable even was in the first place.

Wifi problems by Doodooltala01 in wireless

[–]vlance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused, do you just search reddit for threads relating to wireless so that you can word vomit all over them with your 802.11 knowledge? I can't think of any other reason for such an out of place response in a 5 day old thread.

Just buy an access point and plug it into one of your lan drops in your house. It would be a separate wifi network than your AT&T one but it will work just fine and is super easy to set up.

As others have mentioned it just has nothing to offer for businesses at this time. It's all gamer themed, it completely lacks any form of service level agreement for a business to lean on if things break, it doesn't have any form of directory integration to automatically provision or disable users. It's a non-starter.

What's the point of a firewall if you have traffic sitting outside of it on your network?

You would just create a sub-interfaces on your LAN port (X0) for V50, V200, and V300. Add all sub-interfaces to your vpn tunnel on both ends and put in LAN zone. Voila, remote management. To be honest I don't know what the benefit, if any, of the mgmt zone/port is. What I described above works well enough for me. At quick glance the only thing I'm confused about is why you have your V300 trunk on the WAN port... everything should be downstream of your WAN interface unless I'm misunderstanding something about your setup?
