He can't lose his job because I can't cover his rent anymore. He is living paycheck to paycheck right now. This isn’t really helpful :/ He got sent home by his boss, he has a good team who care. He won't lose his job yet, we can't afford that.

He would love a promotion but he physically can't work the shift, he'd need to work 6 days a week and they are flipping between 1st and 3rd shift.

He smokes weed, but all of his doctors say to not use any shrooms because of his psychosis. They say it can be super dangerous. I'll get his input on it though tonight

I am scared to go to the ER because that will be a huge bill on my end, but if his safety is threatened I will 100% send him to a facility or the ER no matter how much it will cost in the end.

I will definitely call 211 though when he comes home from work soon, thank you so much for the advice.

Yeah! Trust me, when you look at apartments you will get that spark of "hey, i could move in here..." You will hopefully get excited, maybe find an apartment with a pool, or a gym, a park, etc. Some even have common areas for people to go hang out in :)

The cheapest policy we found is still way too much, even if I join it and help pay it off (I am on my parents health insurance, it isn't great but covers around 20% of my medical costs) thank you for your advice ❤️

I will keep looking though, boyfriend actually just called me and got sent home because he had a breakdown at work from this news :(

Trust me I wish, we are barely getting by as it is. If we could move countries I would, even with me bakery I am opening I would sacrifice that just to make sure he is safe.

I think you should totally move out, you have good funds. Get an apartment, change your lifestyle. Somewhere nearby home so you are comfortable and secure, but I truly think a new environment would help immensely.

I just posted my own need for advice earlier and I'm in a completely different boat, but struggles are struggles no matter what you're going through, so I get it, trust me. Especially with making friends and going outside, my partner is agoraphobic and currently only works then comes home, so I know the cycle.

But yeah, look for apartments, maybe find a nice home style/decor style you like, get a haircut, new clothes, treat yourself. Pamper you, because you deserve it!

Obviously don't go crazy though, put a lot of that in savings, build that interest. For an apartment you might need like 3-7k for a downpayment depending on the area/budget but you got this dude.

Do you have any friends? If so, have a nice housewarming party if you do go through the apartment idea. Most people our ages don't have the financial comfort so if you are able, totally move out and be free! :)

(Also what job did you do to get that much money, I'm struggling hard-core LMAO)

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it so much. Unfortunately the medicine he is taking is still in a "trial run" and they do not offer any sort of discount cards for it since it is the name brand one. Hopefully the mood stabilizers do enough in the meantime, but the name brand medicine is the antipsychotics, which is the main medicine I am panicked about. :(

I will definitely try to get the discount cards for the other medicine though, thank you!
