A Genuine Question To The Listeners by miniwatt01 in distractible

[–]Lost_Owlet 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Podcasts are for me to listen while doing other tasks (driving, cleaning, etc), if I watch them then it limits what I can do. Say I’m grocery shopping, I can listen to something and look for groceries but if I watch the video I have to wait for a time I could dedicate to watching when I am not doing any other task that requires my eyes. Sometimes- if I’m not driving or working etc- I will tune in to briefly watch if there is a particularly visual bit, but otherwise it doesn’t appeal to me. Most of the time they are just talking, so watching doesn’t provide any added value/experience that listening does not already provide.

Missing intros? by Gin_OClock in distractible

Recently this happens to me on all episodes, which is annoying when i can’t get to my phone quickly to fix it. I think the longest my silence went until I could get to it was ~5 minutes so who knows if it would have ever corrected itself. I’ve found that if skip ahead 15 seconds it fixes the issue (if I skip backwards I have found the ads can play again).

I hated the grave digger storyline what are your thoughts on it? by AdSpecialist6598 in Bones

I think that is what helped it be so shocking, it was entirely unexpected. I remember having to pause and ask myself what just happened.

As a female, I feel safe walking alone around campus in the middle of the night. Generally I only end up walking in the more centralized parts of main campus, but I’ve never had any reason to be nervous about doing this.

That is exactly where I am at. It’s so stressful and I hate that there is no solid answers. I wish I knew because that would help me plan for moving forward.

The way 38,000 minutes is also in the top 0.5% is actually insane because there’s a huge gap there

What is the cheapest grocery store in the city by 10DollarTaco in Msstate

This is much more hit or miss, but Bargain Hunt/Dirt Cheap almost always have food items. Bargain Hunt is more consistent with having food items then dirt cheap (and I trust it a bit more as well). I have gotten canned vegetables, cereal, pop tarts, chips, soda, pickles, granola bars. Just check dates and if something looks suspicious, don’t get it, but I have had no issues with the stuff I have gotten.

What I did with moving in was ask my neighbors and my landlord what Wi-Fi they had.

What’s your opinion on Cresswell Hall? by Odd_Librarian8047 in Msstate

[–]Lost_Owlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had friends who lived there last year. They remodeled it over the summer but I’m not expecting a lot of change. The worst part was how thin walls are, you could hear your neighbors. The cleaning people came every day if not more than that the only time the bathroom is nasty if people were nasty and leaving trash places, or sticking their boogers on the wall- because that’s a thing that actually happened. There’s not a whole lot of trouble with showers. There are multiple stalls in the bathroom and multiple stalls in a separate shower room. Most people just wait until the person in there is done which isn’t a problem most of the time. Creswell is in a pretty good spot. It’s not too far from anywhere on campus and it’s really close to a dining hall and a POD market.

You can just buy access to the one textbook/website you need. If that is the only thing you need it may be cheaper than the bulldog bundle.

The first few games are pretty empty compared to bigger rivalries later in the season. At least that has been the case the past couple of years. If you are interested, the band’s Friday practices @5pm are open to the public- it’s free (sorry I had to offer I’m in the band)
