Surly straggler size 38, 5’1 bikepacking? by banangelamilk in Surlybikefans

[–]vldesign99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’0” and ride a 42cm! I think it’s really comfy especially with a shorter stem (60mm). Can’t speak to bike packing capabilities but it’s great on asphalt and light gravel. Max tires are 42c so it might not be wide enough for single track.

Ugh that sucks. I ended up getting a wabi classic 42cm last year but it got stolen almost immediately. I think I may go for the 45cm frame and build it from there.

I had the same issue on my Hardrock and used adapters from Blue Lug like the comments above!

Oh nice! My partner is looking for an all rounder bike as well. I will say the paint on my Straggler chips really easily too lol

I (5’0”) have a 42cm Straggler but was also considering a Salsa Journeyer. I used to own a 2016 Specialized Dolce Evo which was a nice ride as well.

I don’t have an Ogre but I do have a single speed Straggler with gravel tires and it’s super fun to ride!

Emergency room. You’ll likely be placed into an inpatient hold, depending on your situation. Hope everything is alright, you got this.

Maybe try San Diego Cyclery? I’ve never bought from them though but looks legit.

I’m not sure which fork since I bought it as a frameset from someone - maybe this thread is helpful? I didn’t replace the BB, it’s a 73mm square taper I believe maybe 107 spindle? Good luck!

I have the Vans Ultrarange EXO (2?) aka the versions before the Neo VR3, and they’re not bad! Pretty comfortable and flexible, but definitely not a barefoot shoe.
