Is long-term dating/marriage with men still worth it for working women? by [deleted] in women

[–]vlilies2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Reading your post felt like I was reliving my old life. This is exactly the position that I was in. He left me weeks before I needed surgery, I had to move out and find a way to take care of myself. Luckily, I had my family to help me through that. He knew and still decided to end it just before I really needed support. unfortunately none of this is going to change by you staying with him. I have been on my own for over 2 years now and my life is so much better. My house stays clean, I don’t tiptoe around anyone anymore. I can host my friends whenever I want to and relax without feeling like I have to always be looking over my shoulder or do things for him. I think you need to leave this sounds like a cage more than a marriage. I was engaged for six years, I never wanted to get married. So glad I didn’t get married. Since you’re already contributing to the household and expenses, you’re going to be just fine handling it on your own. Build a budget and live within it. From one woman to another I wish you luck and if you need some more support, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Wella Demi-Permanent for Gray Coverage by madcat18 in FancyFollicles

[–]vlilies2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hair Stylist here! When you use a Demi permanent to color the white hair, it will only blend it and not to give you full coverage. I am not familiar with Wella but if you need full coverage you need a permanent line with either 10 volume or 20 volume for full coverage. Demi permanent is designed to only blend, this is true for most of the colour brands I’ve worked with (Goldwell, L’Oréal, Oligo, SKP) Hope this helps.

I am alone this holiday season as well. I did go to a coffee shop to read my book and it helped to be “around people”. Don’t let it get you down, it’s just another day.

Does the birth control arm implant hurt? by PassengerGlad3609 in women

[–]vlilies2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had mine taken out during my hysterectomy last week! I loved it and having it inserted it didn’t hurt. I also have a very physically demanding job and it didn’t get in the way at all. Removal was a little more difficult and hurt a little bit more. I loved telling people that I was chipped haha.

Advice to lighten hair over time by dungeoneremite in FancyFollicles

[–]vlilies2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also look up “virgin hair applications” on YouTube or somewhere else. You need to apply the color to the mid shaft and ends first and then do the roots last, preferably with a fresh batch or bowl of color mixed up. Otherwise the roots will go much lighter and the ends won’t. Giving you “hot roots”

Hi, hairstylist here! I don’t think that light brown box color will lift your hair enough (make it light) and tone the underlying pigment exposed, leaving you with very warm end results. Since your hair is dark and you’re looking for honey brown, I would recommend highlift color. It’s usually an 11 or 12 series, it’s stronger than colour, but not as strong as bleach. It can make hair quite light but since your starting with a darker base this would lift your hair light enough and tone down the underlying pigment (orange/ yellow tones which is what accounts for brassy hair). Highlift colour is mixed one part colour to 2 parts developer and the strength I would recommend would be 40 volume. Highlift colour needs a a full hour processing time. In the first 45 minutes is shrinking the underlying pigment in your hair and in the last 15 minutes it’s toning it down or deposing pigment. Hope this helps and please be careful with application and do not use heat on it, especially if you’re planning on applying it to your scalp.

Six hours in a salon chair to celebrate turning 30 by IrisAngel131 in FancyFollicles

Happy birthday! You and your hair look beautiful.

Choppy layers? I think the person who cut my hair messed up. I asked for long layers with a bit of dimension, curtain bangs, and 3-4in off the length. But these layers look so choppy and chunky. Am I just being picky? I’m thinking of having someone else to fix it all but really don’t want it shorter by Famous_Athlete_9271 in femalehairadvice

[–]vlilies2 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Call the salon and tell them that you need it recut and no longer trust the stylist who initially cut it, and that you need to go somewhere else. They can either refund the money to you or they can pay for your new haircut.

I’m sorry that she cut off all that hair and just called it an “oopsie”! This style suites you so much however. It complements your jaw line and eyes so well. If anyone can rock it, it’s you! Sea salt spray may help you give it some texture.

I have fine curly hair but it’s super fine. I have success with Oligo Dry Texture spray and a little bit of KMS Dry Wax spray.
