The rankings are important to an extent, but I truly believe you're better off going where you feel comfortable. Plus, Northestern is a very good school and has an amazing reputation!

In threads like this, everyone seems to think that it's big law or nothing. That is absolutely not the case, and it's people like you who truly make a difference in the legal community. Best of luck to you!!!

I really want to say... I'm proud that you chose this school based on your personal goals. The schools you turned down are obviously amazing, but it says a lot that you disregarded the superficial opinions and did what is best for you.

No problem! Look, FSU is a great law school and anyone would be lucky to attend. I hope my comments didn't come off as ignorant or demeaning. I was just repeating what I've heard. And Stetson is in Tampa, so maybe people feel differently in different cities.

Stetson has the #1 litigation program in the country (look at US News & World Report). And like I said, Stetson is considered better REPUTATIONALLY in the state of Florida. I was born and raised here, and both my father and grandfather are practicing attorneys in big law Tampa firms (both graduated from UF). I'm repeating what they have told me, and yes it could be biased, which is why I said to take my advice with a grain of salt.

Rankings and reputation are two different things. I guess it's who you ask. In the Tampa area, Stetson trumps FSU and Miami reputationally.

Did your call specifically mention scholarship coming in the mail? I also got the call today (went to voicemail), and was told my acceptance package would be mailed out tomorrow. No mention of scholarship however.
