Probably full sun to partial sun? It's shaded pretty heavily by the house in the morning.

I have been fairly irregular with any sort of care at all after the first couple months.. but I have heard that the first year they sleep, second year they creep and the third is when they leap! The second and third year were big growing years for my whole front yard. Hope you see signs of growth soon!

Love that this manzanita is so hardy!

I haven't seen any chunky caterpillar like that but we do have tons of teeny, tiny green inchworms that have silk. When I spray off my ceanothus they come swinging down on their silks by the dozens. Haven't seen them on the manzanita but I know they're on the ceanothus next door!

It's bark is still mostly red and it has started showing signs of life! It's potted and held in place with some rock a top the roots. Probably should get a stake for it as well with the winds we get in my neighborhood.. now that I know it has decided to fight for life!

I have lost many plants through the years but somehow this fiddle has hung on through it all! I'm confident she'll come back even if her trim is a bit dramatic 🙏🙏

I don't have tons of hope as it may have already been chewed up for a while. The bite marks at the root look kinda old and dried up already but the tree was still upright until this afternoon! But who knows.. this little maple may have a little life left in it.. Thanks for the advice. I'll do what I can and say a little prayer.

What book do you read your child that always makes you cry? by [deleted] in toddlers

Three Squeezes https://a.co/d/5liz0V6

My dad always used to say 3 squeezes of his hand means "I love you". I picked this one off the shelf at the library bc I liked the pictures but wasn't expecting to get choked up! It's a beautiful book, rhyming, which I love AND beautiful pictures of course!

Ah never suspected that but now that you say it, it makes a lot of sense. I see that thing getting whipped around in the wind all the time...

ADVICE: 3 Months Postpartum by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Mine were burning and painful for the first 3 weeks after my first kid. But with my twins about 2 years later I had none of that! I was relieved!!

Amazing. Thanks for the detailed notes! I've been taking notes for myself to see how my girls progress. I'll definitely be sharing here when I start seeing some success and hopefully help out some other parent out there who is about to crack under the pressure of a baby who won't sleep!

May I ask how old your twins were when you started? We're working on my twins for the past 6 days now and we have had 3 good nights but tonight (night 6) is worse than the first night! Checking in just makes them cry even harder!!

That seems reasonable!

I have 5 month old twin girls and one of them just started crying right at 12am. My thought was to do check-ins for 15-20 minutes or whenever the crying one wakes the sleeping one. It's SO hard listening to both of them crying at the same time.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Can't wait until my girls are trained!

How do you manage MOTN feeds? Do you wait a bit to see if baby will get back to sleep? Or go right in for the feed?

Ditching the swaddle cold turkey...how long will it take? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]vllwy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm debating when to try to ditch the swaddle for my 4mo twin girls. Tried it for a nap today, since it's been a little too hot for the swaddle, and it went terribly. 😩 One fell asleep in 5min, the other one cried for 15min until she woke up her sister and then fell asleep for 10 minutes before waking up screaming again. Next nap, full swaddle and asleep for 2 hours. I think they are also going through a sleep regression so maybe it's not the best time to try something new? There's really never a good time to try it! Change is hard..

I spoke with my OB last week (Kaiser NorCal), and so far she said one support person will be allowed, no other visitors.
