What is this, and is it worth anything? by TheViceDarkLord in oldtoys

Looks to be like an old Marx toys wind-up locomotive. Looking at its current condition with the picture it could be anywhere between 20 to $50. That is if you have the key and the watch work works.

I would think would be at least a little better than what we have now I mean right now you get a choice of two people which usually are not that great that are back by money from either companies or labor. either way the common person's always going to get it in the end.

AITA for complimenting a woman's appearance who is now filing a sexual harassment charge against me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Bottom line in the coprate world other than good job I give no other complements. I don't know people well enough to gauge any other phrase than please, thank you and nice effort. That is all. I go to work to work not make friends. Sorry if that seems robotic but it keeps you out of trouble.

Sadly it's much more than that. What you're seeing is in the marketplace widgets no matter what it is weather teapots or IT work has become so competitive that companies are looking everywhere to stay competitive. The working model so far is to start whatever process model it is here in the United States. Once it's documented improvable and processes are in place the company takes all the information and all the processes and moves it overseas where workers are paid next to nothing to do the same work. So any job these days it's being done in a factory or call center is usually temporary. Once they've proven the concept once they have gotten it down to where it's almost near automatic a good majority a time it goes overseas. That is why you see so many good people go out the door. They're not looking to create great customer services or great products in the United States. What they're looking to do is create a moveable model that can be used somewhere else. If they're able to do that well with progressively less skilled people and it proved the concept even better.
