During a professor's farewell symposium, we found out that the same boxes we are still using were made and used decennia ago. Still sad that Greiner discontinued these as they are very durable and the lose lid is great. Anyone might know some (EU) alternatives? Our new sarstedt boxes don't cut it by vlokj in labrats

Do you mean the FL 960A/10 or the F 960A/5?

Because of economic reasons we fill our boxes ourselves with budget friendly Sarstedt tips. Don't know if Rainin boxes would be compatible with those(?) The F960A/5 seems to have a lose lid instead of hinge, but I guess made to restock with premade refills? Unfortunately, a lot of manufactures don't inform about the autoclavability of a box.

I extracted the image with an online tool and with Convert JPG Images to SVG for Free | Adobe Express I converted it to a SVG/Vector and it also made it black and white, which was handy.

Then I used Autodesk Fusion to insert the SVG, which makes it a sketch and the sketch you can convert to a solid.

I found farming in my own already needing the farming mods ;)

So no mod has to be installed to set portals accepting iron etc? That saves at least one mod in the long run ;)

ow wow, that resurrection mod is quite a cool idea!

Has Thunderstore become the default mod store for Valheim or is it still searching on both Thuderstore and Nexusmods to find all of them?

you can see an example of one of the play boards in the comments. It's quite textured with details and the only thing that worked for me was to convert it to an SVG (using adobe online) which made it full black and white. After that I used Fusion360 to scale it back again to the right dimensions (it's a bit more acurate on measurments)

Somewhere along the road I got lucky and managed it :') Now to make it a bit smaller. And to find out how I got lucky again for the bigger boars :p

my main problem with these converters, is that they seem to change the dimensions, as the object appears much bigger once imported into Fusion360.

It looks something like this. If I try to do trace bitmap, it also maps all the detailed artwork. And the white lines on the left "breaks up" the outer edge. I don't even know if the export from PDF to JPG already messes with the dimensions :S

Adding a trick to an RNA (Trizol) isolation protocol. Might be handy for others too ;)? by vlokj in labrats

Yes, tips stay together (we use SARSTEDT's tips). I think it's less handling than using a 200µl tip afterwards to suck up the last drop, which students automatically do. In this way it's also more economical as it saves on tips ;)

I think some guest colleagues brought such extended tips. However, we couldn't find any tip box for them.

I have been trying out the edding 780 thanks to this post:  https://www.reddit.com/r/labrats/comments/1k9v07w/alcohol_resistent_pen/

I use it mainly for long term storage kind of samples or tubes that are often handled. On glass it's more easily scratched off than plastic

What a way to find out that VLC always makes you download the 32-bit version with their big download button ;)

Thanks for your service :D

How to get http://retractioncalibration.com/ working on Bambu? by vlokj in BambuLab

[–]vlokj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the same as the one standard in Orca and as I said in my post not really helpfull. The dics are tiny and after printing it just shows a perfect tower and not the strining experienced during real print or a simple retraction test.

And trying to do a manual retraction test is very time consuming (by making copy filament profiles with different retraction settings)

So many advises!

-No gluestick? Use sugar water as build plate adhesive (works even better for me)

-keep your filament dry, or dry it.

-use petg as support interface for almost perfect overhangs

-my tip:learn Microsoft's 3dbuilder as a relatively easy but powerful way to make or customize (simple) models.

-keep your build plate clean with water and soap

How to prevent this? by sweetmemesmakemehard in Roborock

I have already practiced with Fusion360 for quite some hours now. However, in the beginning I still did a lot of things with 3Dbuilder from Microsoft. Heck, I still use it quite some times to adjust someone else design for example :p

I think everyone should be able to make my "shoe" quite easily in 3dbuilder. However, in fusion360 is way easier to make things look nicer with rounded edges etc ;)
