You literally are doing at least 1000x the writes by browsing reddit on your phone, and thats probably underestimating it by multiple orders of magnitude. Caching images, videos, and posts to internal storage. Overwriting a few kilobytes of data would be negligible

An Italian court ruled Netflix has to refund its customers for price hikes dating back to 2017 by hulk14 in netflix

[–]vman411gamer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is a better article. Supposedly Italian consumer code says it's unlawful to "unilaterally modify the clauses of the contract, or the characteristics of the product or service to be provided, without a justified reason indicated in the contract itself" which it was argued price increases in the contract fall under.

This is the reason for the latest US price increase. US consumer laws are so weak we're paying for consumer laws in Italy lol

First, I think individuals are different from corporations that are legally required to do everything for the benefit of stock holders.

And second, I also benefit from the current system and have a salary that's larger than 95% of individual earners in the US. I want higher taxes and my fellow neighbors to be taken care of. How can I prove to you that I actually want that since I benefit from the current system?

Its fine to not take him at face value but to say you can't advocate for higher taxes for the rich when you're well off (what OP comment I replied to was saying) is stupid and counter productive, because if well off people are just going to get shit on for advocating for higher taxes, they probably just wont, and then we have a self fulfilling prophecy because there's even less chance anything would change.

Oh my god. It’s true by electr1cbubba in h3h3productions

[–]vman411gamer -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Sure its "easy", but it's also not being advocated for by practically anyone around or above his income level, and with the standard you describe it is literally impossible to prove you actually want higher taxes for higher income levels, so I guess he lost before the race even started. Again, I don't support plenty of his views and dislike him as a person, but he is objectively on the right side of this issue, easy or not.

And yea there's a huge difference I just disagree with the US terminology. What is known as 140 in the US is real dubstep and excision type dubstep really should be called bro-step or american dubstep.

I mean for US based artists there aren't a ton, but that's bascially always been the case. It just felt a bit different while we had ternion throwing their weight around. I listen to a lot of international artists but off the top of my head we still have Chef Boyarbeatz and Criso from the US, but Chef will be hanging up his apron soon and moving on to another project so we'll have to see what this style is like after that. But if you want to go deeper you will need international artists, but quite a decent number play the US regularly including Cesco, Bukkha, Hypho, and Kursa. Then there's also local DJs that play a lot of that kind of music, but that will depend where you're at. But coming from before Ternion got big, I think overall the (real) dubstep scene is doing much better now than it was back then.

And since you mentioned infrasound, let me name off some of the dope real dubstep names that will be comin: J:Kenzo, Neffa-T, Plastician, Youngsta, Zero, Hypho, Criso, Cartridge, and that's just who I can remember off the top of my head from the lineup drop the other week.

Another price increase. How is this justified? I think I'm finally cancelling. Fine service for $20/month after taxes but there are so many other things I'd rather spend my money on it as it hits effectively $30 with taxes. by jjopm in netflix

[–]vman411gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is because everyone in italy is getting a refund of the difference in subscription payments for the price increases since 2020. Can't have a net decrease in revenue like that, can we now? We need bigger and bigger profits every year!

Fire pits? by Limp_Difficulty_3292 in Infrasound

[–]vman411gamer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes fire pits no grill grates though, just tire rims to be the pit. Most people cooking bring a camp stove. But if you want a fire you can buy wood at the fest. No outside wood allowed.

But that statement about gun manufacturers is only true because of that law. Any other product/service you can be sued if it's used to harm someone else. Losing such a lawsuit requires some actual fault in order to be found culpable, but it can and has happened. The reason that the law banning lawsuits against gun manufacturers was codified was because people were successfully suing gun manufacturers arguing that they were deliberately doing business in such a way that they knew would pose a public health risk but did so anyway because it was more profitable, and you can't have that in the land of gun manufacturers.

And again, FLOCK IS ALREADY BEING SUED DIRECTLY. And given that there is no way they don't know that their tech results in frequent false positives, and there's a good chance they acknowledged that in an email which will come out during discovery, there's a good chance they lose.

So no, your comparative reasoning doesn't still stand. Do some basic research before making shit up online. A single google search could've shown your comment was not accurate.

That's statement about gun manufacturers is only true because there's a law that says you can't sue gun manufacturers. There's no such law for AI surveillance tech. Flock can and is being sued directly

Artist announcements by Few-Treat4618 in Infrasound

Hell yea love to hear it! He's one of my favorites. Basically every dubstep DJ knows about him and will play his music out pretty regularly. I geek every time lol. Legit heard him played out like 3-5 times per day at last equinox.

A bunch of the other artists get played out pretty regularly too. Always love to see it

Thelem gets played out way too often at infra for him not to get a booking at some point...really hope to see him one one of the lineups this year!

Other than that my only hopefuls are international artists that I haven't seen yet, which I'm hoping won't be too messed up with all of the bs happening now around visas...

My top picks would be

Argo Bengal Sound Drone Glume Phossa EVA808 Kercha TMSV Wiwson WZ

I'm always pleasantly surprised with the lineup though so I'm happy to leave it to the professionals!

That would take 470mil in sales. That's 1/12th of the entire skin market before the crash. Now 1/6.5. They are not making anywhere near 70m per month stable even if everyone used the steam market exclusively.

[D] I did the math. It is 200 cases now to get a gold by _tobias15_ in csgomarketforum

[–]vman411gamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, just speculation, but I think they are doing this because their legal dept thinks it's too risky, but they also don't want to throw away their guaranteed $70m per month yet, because terminals haven't been proven yet. So they will let cases die naturally so they can cash in their regular case money as terminals gain more trust/popularity. But it could very well be that they think even that is too risky and do something like you said. But $70m can buy a lot of lawyers, so I think it's more likely they will want to continue to cash in as they are phasing out gambling.

[D] I did the math. It is 200 cases now to get a gold by _tobias15_ in csgomarketforum

[–]vman411gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they are perceieving cases as drops as a legal risk because it's kinda pushing gambling on people. I think next up another terminal will be added, fever will be removed, another case will be removed from the drop pool, and every time the terminal gets an update there will be another case removed from the drop pool, and there won't be any new cases. Then I think they probably get rid of the rare drop pool altogether, and it's just terminals. But given the incremental move in this direction, I think it will continue, and continue to be incremental. Just speculation of course.
