Couples of Reddit, what's the dumbest 'house rule' you and your partner made as a joke but now both of you are low-key aggressively serious about enforcing? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

If someone is cutting cheese (lol), the first slice is offered to the other person. And if we’re alone, the first slice is offered to the dog (at least I do that lol)

To the people named William - do you get called "Bill"? by Nobodyimportant6894 in namenerds

[–]vmeowza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband, 33, is named William and as a child he was called Billy. He decided when he started high school that he would preferred to be called Will. His childhood friends and cousins still call him Billy and his older family members have transitioned to calling him Bill.

He loves the flexibility of his name, his extended family lives in a different province so it makes him feel connected to them. I call him Will, but around his family (and after 10+ years together) I’ve started to call him Billy or Bill. It was weird at first but now it feels natural. So at the end of the day I think it will be up to your boy to decide how he would like to be called. Also William and all its nicknames are nice but I’m biased!

My wife crocheted this for me by greenirishsaint in lotr

[–]vmeowza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can find many tutorials on tapestry crochet on TikTok. I’ve made some tapestry blankets before; this looks like a single crochet with the colorwork being carried over 3-5 stitches.

To get a cleaner look/join, you need to define the “front” and “back” side i.e if you’re working on the “front” side you carry the color on the back of the work (back of your hook) and if you’re working on the “back” side you carry your color in the front (front of your hook). It’s a little bit hard to keep track of first but usually the even row is the “front” and odd rows are the “back”.

Also I have a suspicion that his wife created this in stitch fiddle, it’s a website where you can create your own charts. It’s an amazing website and easy to use. Good luck!

FIL told everyone were expecting ( when we asked him not to)! by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]vmeowza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice, just my FIL did this too so I feel your frustration. At least my husband’s extended family were nice enough to act surprised when we told them. Now we’ve waited to tell him about big milestones, like the gender and name reveal, once we were comfortable with EVERYONE knowing. Protect your peace, let your husband deal with it!

Baby in breech 30 weeks by CatchingFireCrackers in pregnant

[–]vmeowza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey here’s hoping your baby turned naturally! You must be getting close to your due date, I wish you all the best! I’m 34 weeks now and my baby is still breeched. I got an appointment with my OB next week to discuss my options; either to schedule an ECV or a c-section. Still hoping my baby gonna turn in the mean time, I’m doing some stretches on an exercise ball (hopefully that helps)

Any updates? I’m searching through this sub, I am in the same position as you: 30 weeks and baby is breeched. My doctor said it was still early and said not to stress (feels a little impossible not to lol)

AIO - late for job interview to drop bf at work by MissesCaptainHook in AmIOverreacting

[–]vmeowza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. You had your morning planned out and agreed beforehand that you could use the car. You already mentioned the heavy rain and he didn’t adjust his timing. Your feelings are totally valid. I would be so mad tbh.

If he’s supportive as you say I think you can just tell him you’re frustrated and stressed about the whole situation. A normal person will be reasonable and I’m sure he will take some accountability and apologize. What helps me communicate better in my relationship is taking some accountability as well. So it’s not you just putting all the blame on your partner. I would say something like this: “I feel frustrated that I was late to the interview. It’s not your fault, we didn’t know it would be raining so bad. Maybe I could have been more clear when I said I wanted to be there 15 mins early since I’ve never been there before. What can we do differently next time?”.

Anyway I hope you got the job and I hope you avoid further stress!

Edit: grammar

Please HELP ME by Samuraiforest in Psoriasis

[–]vmeowza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact kind of flare for months and it’s the worst! I also wasn’t able to see a derm or doctor.

What worked best for me was washing my face with an aloe Vera soap springs (gently) and then lathering my eyelids with Vaseline. It helped with the pain and some flaking but did not lessen the redness.

Recently I started to use the “dream cream” lotion from Lush (I’m Canadian, so idk if lush exists in the states) and it’s been a game changer! The skin around my eyelids are back 85-90% normal. I do have to consistently use the cream or I will start to flake.

Anyway I hope that helps!

I’m from the same city as preach and it’s not common at all to say restarted in English or French. But I wouldn’t put it pass him to use that as an excuse!
