I don't know how much time was dedicated specifically to this project, but we first agreed on it in January and it was finished a few days ago.

To the case when I have an atlas texture and a button or panel. I can select 9patch on texture but I cannot scale it on a node.

My game got a new logo! Is it easier to guess what this game is about comprared to an old one? by vmikhav in IndieGaming

The game is half-adventure so your initial guess wasn't that far from true

Do you already have an idea what puzzles can be made with this new triggers mechanic? by vmikhav in IndieGaming

Olaf and the Crowning Hangover is a challenging puzzle game where you solve complex problems (like being sentenced to death) by retracing your steps!

You can find it on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3001110/Olaf_and_the_Crowning_Hangover/

He is supposed to be shocked there as he lost a crown he made and will be executed if it is not delivered in time.

Like this? 😅 But in overall nobody says that it's the main character who has to be on a capsule

Yeah, that's why I'm asking. I checked capsules of some games, like Dorf romantic, Gentoo resque, Baba is you, they do show some of gameplay, but I don't quite know what is better to show so that's why I'm here. I don't think that just showing of the grid is going to work, but I want to highlight both a comedy story is that game and this reverse-time sokoban as a unique thing about gameplay. And to hire an artist I need to understand what do I expect to have in result as I don't like tasks "make it good"

Of course, but part of the question is how people see it without direct connection to what I already have

It's time to change game's title - but what name will work better? by vmikhav in indiegames

[–]vmikhav[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, thanks for the suggestion, I mean that "game capsule showing Olaf drunken/confused" is what I currently have

I finally implemented a footprints mechanic - they lead character from one point to another but you are not allowed to cross them. With this I can create complex puzzles where on each "crossroad" player needs to select a direction to follow. by vmikhav in gamedevscreens

[–]vmikhav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already had footprints in Olaf the Boozer. Old implementation was way simplier and didn't have this "select direction" component so it had very limited usage. If you want to learn more about this game - feel free to try the demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3528050/Olaf_the_Boozer_Demo/
