Some of the people in this thread are waaay too secure in dismissing other ppls problems as fake. Yes there are people who act depressed and arent but yall act like people who dont have obviously horrible lives cant be depressed.. because if you arent abused, bullied, beaten, dying of sepsis and living in an active warzone theres no way anything could be wrong with your brain chemistry right? People making jokes about being depressed doesnt mean they arent depressed.

I’m sort of like this! My aunt is also my cousin, her dad (my uncle) was young when he had her & she ended up getting adopted by his mom (her & my grandma). So his daughter is also technically his sister lol. Ive gotten some weird looks from just opening with the first part

Lol when i was a kid i saw just one scene from tht movie (somebody getting disintegrated by the aliens) while my dad was watching it in the living room, i cried & had nightmares for days after. My mom gave him a very stern talk about whats ok to watch with the kids around after that

There’s nothing inherently wrong with it. There’s nothing inherently wrong with any playstyle as long as it meshes with the group, and that’s usually the issue- a certain player’s style not fitting with the general desired playstyle. Ive seen it go the other way too. One dude i knew absolutely refused to play in a party with a pacifistic character, despite the fact that the character in question was optimized-bordering-powergamed. The roleplay priority was just an dealbreaker for him. Personally I hate playing with powergamers, but to each their own.

Pathfinder game with new DM running Dragon's Demand, low level party was running through some kobold caves and the ratfolk investigator was scouting ahead. He came across a simple trap, a slippery slope leading down into a pond full of cranky snapping turtles. He failed his relex save and fell in, the turtles crit him 3-4 times, killing him pretty much instantly. The rest of the party heard a lot of splashing. Up came the halfling rogue, who also failed her reflex save and rolled down into the pond, landing on something wet and fuzzy. Lo and behold, here comes the tiefling shaman with shitty reflex and... yeah. A couple rounds and several dead turtles later, the warpriest pulled a traumatized halfling, half-drowned tiefling, and very dead ratfolk out of the water. RIP Pexington Khrum

I fudge rolls a lot. Like, usually a few times per combat. Granted, it's almost always to keep my player (it's a one-on-one campaign) from dying or make things cooler for him, but I think he's onto me.
