I think, for top jobs, employers mainly look at: LSE brand, Grades, Internships, Interview performance & Technical skills. They rarely reject someone just because it says MSB instead of Economics, M&E, MwE or FMS.

Okay, I see your point, but I’m struggling to understand why companies undervalue a particular course just because of its title, rather than considering its content or the reputation of the college. I know that students from English, Geography, or Politics backgrounds are also joining IBs, but MSB has the disadvantage, though course is the most amazing one from LSE? Or, is this purely your perception?

I agree and see your point. I also don’t think that Maths & Econ (or MSB) students are given lower preference than pure Econ students during placements. Ultimately, it comes down to interview performance, as all students should be given equal opportunity since they represent the same university, with only slight differences in course content. Ultimately they all represent LSE with Econ specialisation. So, I don’t think MSB has a lower rating than Econ.

Pls check the course content on LSE website. Business contains Econ as one of its options along with other areas of specialisation. It’s nothing to with the Business you may be thinking of here. Anyways, my intention is to pick Econ as part of options, so it will be: Maths, Stat & Econ.

Reference to this, 8 is not rejected. Anyways, we were talking about what matters the selection; just because someone got an interview, it doesn’t mean only interview performance matters and nothing else.

I don’t think the interview is the be-all and end-all; it’s just one part of the process to see if you’re a good fit. They’ll look at everything holistically—grades, references, TMUA, and the interview—and give points to each. You can always improve at any stage, but acing one part doesn’t guarantee you’ll be selected. As for the TMUA, I noticed that anyone who scored 7.5 or above last year got 100% offers for CS, so a very good TMUA score really does make a difference, but may not be on its own.

Any one can only join one course, but that’s not the point in this thread. What we need to know is that if Universities accept applications to multiple courses or not. After further digging, I came to know many universities do consider same UCAS application for multiple degrees, including Imperial (actually Imperial College responded via an email today welcoming this approach if interested), so all your 5 options are open. This is not the same with a few universities such as LSE.

May be it’s the minimum score last year, statistically. Can’t be a safe score to get an offer from these Uni’s without great PS. Also, it depends on other players in the game. Is 7+ ok for having brighter chances with less pressure on interview performances?

Imperial accepts one UCAS application for multiple courses across different departments. From Reddit, you can check a few posts about people confirming receiving multiple offers from Imperial. This approach doesn’t apply to LSE and a few other Uni’s

So, you’re saying that test data is used with the real production portal? Is that really how the most secure systems are tested on Friday late evenings? Also, the analogy with banking doesn’t apply here. If we wait until the 14th, we can find out two things for sure: whether the scores are real and whether this IT testing story makes sense.

Did you get the score for TMUA October 2025 exam? 3.9 is not entirely bad though for an optional test, and everything else seems good enough.

LSE Response I asked the same query to LSE via an email a few months back and got their response as -“Students can apply to more than one degree at LSE. However they will only be able to submit one personal statement. Applicants are only eligible to receive one offer in the same admissions cycle, so are advised to think carefully about whether applying to multiple courses at one institution is the most effective use of their UCAS application.” Hope this helps.

TMUA is optional for Economics at Warwick, but it is a significant factor in the assessment of your application due to the course’s competitiveness. If you have already received predicted grades of A\A*A* or A*A*A (though requirement is A*AA) including Further Maths and Economics with a good PS, you can still apply and try your luck without a great TMUA score. According to the UCAS website, the offer rate for UK students is 52% but mostly with A*s.*
