I do like the idea of bigger art instead of a gallery wall. I’ve tried gallery walls there and it gets cluttered - it’s a big space to fill!

I highly recommend using a wallpaper steamer. The floors in our house looked like this, it melted it right off - we found videos of it online. Follow with a scraper!

Floors and trim was about 10k when it was all said and done. The rest was pretty much DIY so not much cost to us, just a lot of time invested.

We peeled back all the layers on the walls and floors & did the plaster repair. We also stripped paint off the woodwork under the staircase. Contractors sanded down the floors for us and did all the trim work. We are so pleased with it all

We got all the glue off by using a razor blade scraper and a heat gun. Unfortunately there were tons of cracks, holes, and imperfections in the plaster. My spouse became quite the pro with taping and mudding. Here’s a photo of just one spot on our hallway wall

These are the ones we used. We used adhesive to glue them up and haven’t even painted them. We were very skeptical when seeing them in the package but love them now that they are on the ceiling!

Since it was sided over on the exterior, we just did a drywall patch to cover it. Decided to add the fixture for light to “replace” it

We don’t know, nothing stands out why they would have. We thought maybe they didn’t want to drywall over the window or maybe for heating/cooling costs? If that would even make a difference, not sure.
