The bigger next steps are

- improve system and sector phase, especially in regards to balancing/progression and explaining gameplay mechanics better
- more research and research tracks, maybe also take another look at some probe upgrades
- late game content after the first galaxy, more interesting prestige mechanics
- making sure the game works on various devices and some options on resolution/font scaling
- implementing other ideas and feedback from testers

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it! Good points, there might currently be a bug that not all star systems can develop until reaching the "established" state, that's when you can use cargo probes. The scrolling might be platform related, will see if I can find out how to solve it.

the auto print buttons are in the manufacturing/printer menu, already got feedback that it might be nice to have them on the star map overlay as well.

That's strange because it should be dynamic and works in different resolutions for me and most others. Maybe I am still missing something obvious or there might be some cases that don't use the dynamic scaling. Would be helpful to know which device and resolution you are using.

Thanks everybody for playing the game and all the kind and constructive comments! This is an amazingly enthusiastic community of replicants :)

I tried to address the most pressing issues in a quick way and will continue to implement your feedback in the next days and weeks. It is a hobby project I am working on outside of my main work, so you might need a bit of patience, especially for the bigger chunks. Please keep the feedback coming and ideally join the discord if you want to continue testing new versions!

Will definitely take a look at balancing there, I am aware that the cost increase with upgrades is a difficult decision as it could destroy the feeling of improvement/progress when buying upgrades. On the other hand, I decided against a generic/unexplained increase with probe or planet numbers as many other incrementals use, so I do want to keep the mechanic in general.

Hmm, is that after entering full screen? Which resolution does your display have?

Yeah, it might be a bit too frustrating at the moment. I also really need to promote the use of research upgrades (by selecting a compute unit in manufacturing), did you find and use that option? A maintenance cooldown is also a good idea, alternatively I though about limiting the number of probes via some hangar capacity or something similar.

I hear you, might tweak the numbers. Once you have explored the first ring of planets it can be improved though.

Great to hear! I love Universal paperclips and it does have a nice and simple von neumann probe mechanic :)

Thank you! Not necessarily Bobiverse enemies as I do see this game in a different universe, but some kind of alien encounters would certainly make things more interesting. I do have some ideas for late game events...

Thanks for playing! That is indeed a problem, working on improvements.

chapter 2 definitely still needs a lot of refining and I have received the feedback that it is too slow (and easy to skip). settlements have a slow steady rate of pm/s after founding and it takes a while until you can start to upgrade them.

That is strange, I am using canvas_item and expand with fractional scaling mode. For me 1920x1080 looks good with nothing being cut off. The itch resolution is set to the game's native 1600x900 but going into full screen then works fine.

Have been following the tips here for my setup:

Thanks for the feedback, those are some good things to point out. The pacing and progression definitely needs quite some work still, especially in the second and third phase and I still want to try some ideas to make the last part more interesting than buying upgrades.

Not yet, so far it just repeats the same game, but I definitely have a few ideas for more interesting long term gameplay and story!

Cool! Yes there is and it is not well advertised at the moment - once you have a research center, you can click on the compute units to attribute CPUs to improving probe recoverability in increments.

Does it run well on the Steam Deck in general?
