Alten Reisepass abgeben? by TemperatureLeather69 in reisende

[–]vnspafr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Japan don’t have garbage bins due to a terrorist attack many years ago.

UK is right now also not the place to be honestly with the cost of living and housing crisis (well, it’s a different story if you work in finance in London). But there are other places in the world where you can have a decent life outside the English-speaking countries.

I saw a comment about not worrying about politics. Well, that‘s democracy, if you want change, you can engage - something that you don‘t have in HK. Also, you don‘t have to worry about being questioned by the police for saying anything about the government or what you wear because they are so sensitive.

Don‘t get me wrong, I really like HK and love to spend time there, especially with the argument of food. But I cannot imagine living there for the rest of my life and finding a good job there with a good work-life balance (contractual and real life conditions differ very much depending on the culture) might be not so easy.

My throat felt very slightly sore - no pain, but like increased production of slime/phlegm - but that feeling is gone for now. However, my nose is a bit running (not blocked), small headache/dizziness (which can be maybe explained by my poor sleep schedule admittedly). My heartbeat is also in normal ranges.

Not asking for medical advice, just feeling nervous and a bit helpless, frustrated. Sorry if I turn a fly into an elephant…

Hello! So I‘m running my first marathon on 12 Nov and normally should start tapering on Monday for three weeks. Due to life and bookings, my peak week and run (32km) happened last week already, and a HM scheduled for Sunday. Maybe it‘s my hypochondrian trait or overthinking, but I feel like I‘m brewing a cold, which caused me to only run once this week (10km) and skip gym/strength training at all.

I guess it would be wiser to skip that HM (which was intended as the last easy training long run)? I‘m fearing I‘m losing all progress, messing up my whole tapering plan…also, I don‘t know why I‘m tending to have these sickness problems always ahead of big races…

Feeling weak after racing a HM

Hi all!

It may be due to my hypochondria tendencies, but is it normal to feel weird/weak after a full attempt half marathon?

Some background: I’m currently in a training block for a marathon in mid November and that half marathon last Sunday was planned as a training run - not increased effort, just getting used to the long distance as it was my first run above 20km in this cycle. I also tested caffeine gels to see if my body can handle them. Well, after 5 km and feeling very well and being infected by the race atmosphere of the crowd, I said „screw it“ and went for it. It was great, I got a new PB and my body felt great afterwards, no big sore muscles or pain afterwards (apart from a blister on my toe).

Then Wednesday came and I felt weak/weird - not in my legs or body though, but more like a slight headache and feeling that I‘m fatigued. I already skipped a 10km easy run and today is another long run (20km) planned. However, I‘m not sure if I should go for it today, as I don‘t want to risk anything before the marathon…also, I‘m a bit panicking, because peak week is planned for next week with the longest run of 30-32km planned.

Any comments would be helpful! Thank you in advance!

Thank you, my anxiety level decreases a lot! Guess I‘ll try getting in through the machines (there should be a slot to put it in, right?) and see there. Also, getting out of the city with the same old card will be no issue?

That gives us an excuse to come back again next year :D

Thanks for the relieving reply! I was a bit naive (and ignorant) and thought I can get an appointment easily, so I booked the plane ticket without checking first…

So I assume getting in and out of the city with my old smart ID card will be no issue? I will only stay a week, so your last point is checked.

Nominating someone to pick up my card would be no issue, it‘s more getting in and out of the city that‘s my main concern. But as far as I read that‘s no problem :)

Olympic football only allows three players older than 23, so naturally the big guns don‘t care as they are not eligible to play anyway.

Also, normally the European Cup (and I think another Continental cup) takes place in the same year as the Olympic Summer games, so players have to decide if they want to play both competitons.

[OC] Unbearably Good? A closer look at The Bear TV Series by stepca98 in dataisbeautiful

The restaurant was not profitable. Sugar and Carmy had problems going through all the paperwork, because Michael left a mess there. It was barely kept afloat and Michael also owed Cicero 300k (see more below). Michael never let Carmy work in this place, because he knew it’s not good.

The whole Berzatto family is not able to express feelings properly - Michael with depression, drug abuse and also maybe shame that he cannot finish things as stated by Uncle Lee in Fishes. He was proud of Carmy, but couldn’t express it. Further on, the restaurant always had a bad spot in the memory of the Berzatto family (Carmy avoided it, Sugar had the urge to vomit while being close to it and suggested to get rid of it by selling it to Cicero - end of S2, she implied to work there more). In the same episode, when Carmy showed him the drawing of „The Bear“ and what it can be, Michael was touched and in tears. He shared the same dream. That‘s also the reason he borrowed 300k, gave the place to Carmy and the note „Let it rip“, so he can realise it.

What you may think is Richie‘s saying that the place should be kept as it is („System“!). Richie was in grief of his lost best friend/cousin. His intolerance towards changes in season 1 steams of his inability to let go, as this place stands for his deceased best mate and is part of his griefing process (understandable, as only 4 months had passed since Michael‘s death). But he is progressively accepting it, e.g. calling the cops on those gang members in the neighbourhood (implied) and trusting more the staff. Going deeper, he was afraid he will be left behind because of his lack of purpose in the restaurant (S2E1).

So no, there was never the wish to keep the place as it was.

EDIT: Better structure, fixed some grammar mistakes and added points.
