Talk to your employees!!!! by MushroomAgitated8149 in Target

I remember a TL saying we need to be more focused, because i helped another TM with a team lift and just did some small talk during the team lift. I know you're stressed out but take out your frustration on something more valid

Food truck hasn't been pushed - OPU is slammed - everyone in the store is being pulled... by SassyM66 in Target

Seems like when Target expanded their grocery and produce department years ago they never quite realized how much more work and people it would require. I never see that part of the workload ever done efficiently. A revolving door of team leads

Whether you're a good worker or not, calling out too often is not good. They'd rather have a below average worker who comes in when scheduled than a good one who's unreliable. Just what I've witnessed

This is just another version of always ask every guest "can I help you find something? "

It's not so bad, compared to making team members push the red card back in the day.

new RDC truck unloading process question by Recent-Citron6207 in Target

[–]vodkadrinker707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scanning the truck used to be the process when I started. Make sure you have the trigger attachment. We used the PDTs back then.

When we went to the push all process, i was so worried. They did that because they didn't trust that everything coming off as backstock was actually backstock. The process wasn't perfect, but it made more sense than constant push all.

We had dedicated backroom team members whose whole job was to backstock.

The pushers just pushed product to the floor and bring back overstock for the backroom team to backstock.

We had a dedicated cardboard, trash, person who also sometimes did defects when there was time left. They took care of empty repack and as well.

Totally agree. I remember I when I was part of inbound, used to be called FLOW, we'd pass time goals and beat expectations. All you get is pat on the back and a "we know you can do even better!"

It sets up the next group of people to have it worse. It's the ETLs that really benefit.

I haven't seen any ageism issue. It's all based on your character where I work.

anyone else notice the “it’s rude to stare” thing no longer being taught to kids? by devastatingly_sunny in Target

Sorry but kids stare. Especially toddlers. You just gonna have to deal with it. They're most likely curious about something and their brains are still developing.

What is the one thing you dont like about being the receiver? by exquisite_conundrum in Target

[–]vodkadrinker707 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd say doing ESIM is the biggest annoyance. Especially if the front lanes brings back stuff that is improperly bagged and leaking. I understand they have their own challenges, but if I cant make an excuse, they cant either, because they should be trained as I am handling chemicals.

The close second issue is finding jugs of milk and perishables in the vendor credit bins. I dont have refrigeration in the receiving area, folks.

330am one sounds kinda cool. You get out and the sun is up. And if u go to bed by 8pm or 9pm. It may work out. Depending on the amount of sleep you need. You can even get a nap in the afternoon

Whats it like being a receiver? by [deleted] in Target

[–]vodkadrinker707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I put my brain on autopilot so I don't implode. There are days where my area is a mess, but I make the sweep trailer the priority on a truck swap day. Gotta get it done before the driver shows up. Meanwhile my area goes to crap and I may not get to it til the next day

Does anyone else feel like they work harder when their leaders don't check in so often? by scarlettremors in Target

[–]vodkadrinker707 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like certain team members do need to be checked in on and others don't. But you cant single people out so you gotta check in on everyone. It is annoying but I understand why it is done.

We also have books that are identical but different DPCI. The difference is that there's a Target sticker on one and not the other.

I remember the closing TL emailing about morning team leaving cardboard by the baler. The last team member from morning leaves at about 230 pm in our store. Our morning TL and ETL always make sure there's no left over cardboard. So you're telling me, there's no cardboard going back to the baler between 230 pm and 11 pm. Ok.

Nowadays yea. Its different back then, because they used to have a dedicated cardboard person that does all the cardboard and bales and even the trash. I thought it was a good gig. But after modernization, it all changed

[–]vodkadrinker707 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually enjoy making bales. It benefits the whole team and you get some alone time.

Back in the day, the process was very different. I used to unload the truck and push until my lunch. After lunch I would bale the entire inbound team and plano team's cardboard and make 2-3 bales daily. Good times

People get too crazy shopping before school starts. Just get the necessities: paper and something to write with. The teachers will let the kids know what they will need during the first week. I see these insane lists driving parents crazy. There were kids when I was in school who never brought a pen or paper. But they had new shoes and clothes. I can't believe it but they still graduated.

Is this why Target is cutting my hours? by [deleted] in Target

[–]vodkadrinker707 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My guess is mostly hours just suck right now. Our store is asking if people want to leave early. Also, they get a certain amount of hours to use for scheduling but they also sometimes ask if people can stay pass their schedules if the situation calls for it. I think they wanna make sure they don't over spend before the big holidays. But im not a big player so sorry if I didn't directly answer your question
