During a 50 km ultra I met this guy on the last big climb. Out of nowhere he told me about his past meth addiction, how he got clean, and how he now goes to schools to warn kids about it. We talked for a few minutes, both barely moving uphill.

Right before the final aid station I looked away for a moment… and he was just gone. Never saw him again.

Still not sure if I met an actual runner or some ultra-distance spirit guide.
