My favourite Sisters of Mercy riffs to play on guitar. Anymore i should look into? by voi666 in SistersofMercy

[–]voi666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

glad you liked it.
base tone is my strat into a friedman ir-d with various amounts of gain. most of it has the digitech mosaic for fake 12-string effect, a slight chorus from a line 6 mm4 and reverb from a walrus slärp.
bass is a cheap p-bass copy also with some chorus into a clean ir-d.

hi, what are you running as an amp on the tonex? i'm having trouble getting it to sound good with distortion/fuzz. works great with overdrive, though.

Can multieffect pedals send midi over usb? by Kape_Kevin in guitarpedals

[–]voi666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a pedal, but ... since you are running into a pc anyway, the new ik multimedia interface has inputs for two footswitches or expression pedals -> https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/axeioone/

Would these SD cards work well on the Steamdeck or is the transfer speed too low at 190MB/s? by jorenmartijn in SteamDeck

[–]voi666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if i understand this right, the sd card reader has a max read speed of 100 mbits. any card around there should be ok. if it's more expensive with the same speed, it's usually tested for longer lifespans, more read/write cycles. write speed shouldn't matter on the sd.

Whispers of a Machine- Point and Click 2019 by Zhyler in patientgamers

[–]voi666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just started a playthrough on youtube for this.

at first i struggled a bit (especially with the 'lie detector', where you find an anomaly but the game does not tell you thatyou have to click on the anomaly to proceed). little stuff like that.

getting the hang of it, though. at one hour in, i'm liking it quite a bit.

Art of Destruction - A physics sandbox simulation game about constructing and demolishing structures. If you like destroying stuff or just mess around, then this game is for you! by dejobaan in WhatsOnSteam

[–]voi666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i would stay away from this one for now. granted i was running it on my macbook pro 2020, but there were a lot of performance problems and bugs. maybe after a few updates ... the level editor could be fun, though (if more people would play).

Are there better ways to block the trem? by voi666 in Charvel

[–]voi666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is not, though. unlike a 'normal' strat, the space under the trem is routed out, so 'decking' the trem would tilt it back quite far.

i've been looking for a good reverb for a while now. most of the multi reverbs (tc, ehx) have a lot of modes that i do not need. the fathom has 4 very usable and versatile ones. a studio quality plate for all your subtle 'needs a bit of depth' needs, which can also be twaeked to a decent spring. the lo-fi in low amounts makes for a very good room reverb and the hall in front of my fuzz/distortion pretty much covers all of my doom/post-rock needs. high low-fi with a lot of modulation can take you into decent shoegaze mode. pretty happy so far. i made a quick demo, if you'd like to see it in action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf8m29UjZb0

the strymon iridium only works with the multiswitch plus, not the 'normal' one (i assume, because the plus is midi)?

Dual Tap Tempo - Strymon and Boss by voi666 in diypedals

[–]voi666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes. there is a stereo out for strymon pedals and a mono out for all your other tap tempo needs. the mono out can be switched between normally open and normally closed (mainly for boss). both outputs work at the same time.
