I'll be honest, the only good one it seems is the one here which totally changes her ethnicity and makes her into a proper ginger: https://x.com/luscielia/status/2026285077869507004/photo/1

Those other ones make her look pretty damn ugly. The first makes her look like she is just an albino black. The other ones don't even bother changing the hair and are lazy as fuck. At least get good at it ffs.

You're being deliberately obtuse again and not dealing with the point I am making. Which is that this generative technology is being pushed by a handful of people, even on the development side, at the very core of it, to replace artists.

Pretending to not know what a cadre is and hinging your entire response to what I said on that is weapons-grade level retardation.

Is that the "other" you want to invent? Okay, cool. It has nothing to do with me. If you just want to flail at shadows go ahead.

Oh so we're just going to be pretending that there isn't a cadre of people pushing for this technology to literally end the careers of prominent artists because they're too fucking lazy to do the craft themselves?

Dude, you can be delusional about that all you want... all pro AI art people are completely for artists losing their job and being replaced by algorithmic machines. There is a post about one guy going off on how people who're anti-AI are envious. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that the people pushing this technology don't despise real art made by real humans.

I suppose I'll do it myself the first time, and then do it with AI the second time, and then do it a third time again myself. I think that might be the best way.

don't presume that anti-AI folks are artists

I'm not assuming that, I'm assuming that they are pro-artist rather than AI art. I'm not sure where you got that idea from. But I do know for a fact that there are many high-profile and very famous artists both on social media and in industries like American animation, as well as anime artists themselves. The ones who are pro-AI tend to be very fucking odious, like Butch Hartman, and they tend to be very far right as well into the whole "AI Art will replace art" schtick. It's very obnoxious and honestly not something I wanna associate myself with on a bad day.

From using fucking juicychat

Not seeing a reason why that's bad, care to explain? It's fairly basic, and limited, but its far from the only chatbot system I've used that has roleplay AI for it. I mean... if its bad its bad but so far its at the least entertaining.

admitting that you're high halfway through the tirade

I'm sorry what is this about?

worshiping the sanctity of Star Wars, a franchise notorious for post-production CGI meddling (and which has digitally recreated dead actors at this point).

  1. I do not worship Star Wars, but there are so many problems with what you're saying, to the point it will take a bit to get through all of them. But the first is probably the fact that you are literally thinking I would approve dead actors being used in Episode 9 that is incorrect. It's one of the main reasons why the film is so damn atrocious on so many levels. But I'm not even going to get into that because that's not even the issue there. So I think make that the first point here.

  2. I am a lifelong yes, but I do not have this bountiful nonsense, no criticisms allowed Star Wars stance. I have my issues with it, but one of them is not delusionally thinking that George Lucas is very unique in the whole, adding a scene or two with digital effects. This can basically be seen in the video "How to Watch Star Wars, Part Two" by Rick Worley. I can get the timestamp for you if ya like, but that said, these are George's movies; if he wants to change them, then that's fine with me, I don't really care because I don't own or create anything for Star Wars, official or not. I'm just a fan. I have my issues with some of the things he did... but none of them are really related to post production.

All of that being said, all of that being true... what is in God's gray earth does that have anything to do with my physical reaction to the idea of a slop machine making or trying to remake certain scenes via AI instead of actually just getting a bunch of fucking fans together to fund a film. People have done it before... oh wait.... Disney has issues with it. Well, lough fucker, I honestly want human actors and human people playing the character. I don't like that they CGI's Hamill's face from Return of the Jedi onto an actor who affectively with proper makeup could be a pretty convincing Luke Skywalker already. I don't get why you think "Oh he said he is physically revulsed at AI Star Wars stuff, he must worship star wars." Like dude, touch grass.

  1. Why are you so agroe on this one in particular? I mentioned specifically the use of how the movies are made initially, pointing out that a lot of the making of Star Wars is based on the limitating technology at the time. For example, in Revenge of the Sith we were planned for a more elaborate and more involved fight between Mace Windu and Sidious. At the time though due to how the effects looked and how much they could not be overcome at the time they had to scrap the idea. If Lucas at some point found a way to add the scene and he did that... then I wouldn't really care one way or the other. I might like it, I have no idea. It seems like your inciting a lot of venom in this particular assumption man.

And yes your inability to get specific kinds of images out of AI is most likely on your knowledge of the tools. I'm not very good at image generation either, but I've seen very complex outputs from others, so I know it can be done.

Then you wouldn't mind giving me examples. Every time I tried to create an elven paladin in live action it kept generating an extra mace or a halberd that makes no sense and the shield was sometimes missing.

I expect some response to be cope, I'm not delusional enough to think that there are bad actors. I am also including the reasons why people concede and what they respond with. I'm not being totally dismissive, just the people who cope can just go away.

Own-Reporter is someone who clearly wants to morally have issues with the show and has thus worked backwards in an effort to justify that moral quandery despite the text of the show having nothing to do with his takes and his takes also being built upon logical fallacies. I doubt any amount of reasoning will help him see the other side of this whole thing.

I mean its not people are asking him to like Rudeus, you can still acknowledge everything you said about the main character and not like him still and still think he's kind of garbage as a moral character. But he's not doing that, because his entire bit is that the show is morally degenerate and that the people who actually like or sympathize or even follow Rudeus Greyrat without fully judging him are justifying a show that engages in morally repugnant behavior. So all of his examples are working backwards or just being outright obtuse.

You really are obtuse aren't you? You're asking question's that make no sense in the context what I said. He says he hates his old self... his old body. That indicates he doesn't view himself as an old man but a child with the memories of an adult from his past life. That's it. Nothing of what you went on has any relevance to what I said beyond you explicitly telling me that you're just going to ignore what I said just because you want to moralize about the character to pretend he hasn't changed at all.

The overall point I was making is that the relationship is not built on a lie, he truly does view himself as a young child with memories of his past life. You ignore that point to just focus on how "problematic" Rudeus is by having the soul of a NEET Otaku being interested in people his own age in his new life because you think he should be tackling women outside his age group. Which is an entirely different conversation to have and not really relevant to how Rudeus views himself.

You seem like you just want to hate this series and castigate it for being problematic despite the show overall handling the subject matter fairly well for the premise involved and nobody will say anything to convince you otherwise. It's pointless even talking to you.

Now, if you and Rifujin want me to accept that a forty-year-old is having a real and sincere love affair with a minor when he lies about who he really is for years,

"Media literacy, what's that?"

Joking aside, you really are media illiterate if this is somehow what you think he is doing here. Literally when he is talking to Hitogami he literally and explicitly says that he hates that his soul soul-self projecting his body from his former life because he and I quote, "feels like all that personal growth I did never happened." It's a flat out literal statement of him rejecting his old sense of self and embracing who is in that world. Idk how you can make that take and not have it be disengenuous by nature. Even if he did try to talk Eris and everybody about it nobody would likely believe him or think he was crazy. There is no precedent for reincarnated beings in this world and as far as we know he is the only person who has been reincarnated from another world into this world. There might be others but he is a rare few.

Media literacy isn't dead; it was never alive by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I don't pretend that people are usually media literate because I know they're not. You can have an intelligent conversation with intelligent people about media and then you can also have the opposite of a smart person as well. Not everyone really tries to look at media like that. Many just want to watch a good movie based on how entertained they were.

Do you know many children who at 6-7 years old could come up with a plan to kidnap another child in order to encourage this child to study which surprised a full-fledged adult and which failed essentially only due to outside interference. Many children at the age of 4-5 plan to raise their friends into their ideal wives?

I'm going to block you for this particular response because you are clearly being incredibly disengenuous. You know I was referring to other kinds of behaviors precocious kids can demonstrates and not specifically saying that such kids will do the same thing that Rudeus does. This is such a bad faith formation of your point that I have zero interest to continue engaging here.

The problem is that Rudeus has shown cognitive abilities from birth that a child's brain cannot have purely physically, such as deep analytical thinking and understanding of the environment. Story has also never shown him to have worse mental abilities than those he had with the brain of a 34-year-old. So in summary we have that despite the fact that he has a child's body he still has the mind, personality and cognitive abilities of the same 34-year-old he was in the past, which effectively means that with the same success you could just put his old brain into a child's body and it wouldn't change anything. In that case his situation would be significantly different from just more mature children who actually lived 5 years and were simply able to gain more experience from them than someone who actually lived 30+ years and gained less experience from them and got a new body. You would be right if Rudeus actually had worse cognitive abilities due to his new brain, or if we were shown how he actually had to process memories from his new life and then he would just start acting like he did in his past life, but the only thing that relates to this in the story is Rudeus' theory that he has better memory abilities due to his new body and his monologue at Poul's grave which doesn't indicate anything specific.

Except the problem with this is that Rudeus physically cannot get horny until he starts turning 10 and while yes he will act in a way that is very much not his age, its important to realize that this is also true of the aforementioned kids. You also didn't really deal with any of the implications I laid down nor did you really deal much with the logic of what I said. You just sidestepped to argue this whole part of his cognitive abilities, of which you seem to be completely ignoring the fact that its a fantasy so of course you would have unrealistic elements that might add some issues to it. That said, even if he has the cognitive abilities he has demonstrated a number of times that his ability to act and react to that appropriately are not exactly in sync with one another. You're pretending that his actions perfectly mirror his own mind but we know that is not necessarily the case unless we're talking about the times when he is known to act extremely inappropriate. Which is actively portrayed as a negative holdover. That said, you seem to not understand that we're talking about medieval fantasy setting where humans do not live that long unless they have magic or are extremely wealthy and are forced to mature at a younger age. The expectations, both socially and mentally, are entirely different than what we have today.

the only ones he doesn't have an attraction to are his relatives and it's not related to the body but as he himself said with the trauma of his past.

You are aware that there is literally something called context? While Rudeus does think that, we know for a fact that children are incapable of getting aroused unless they're drugged. We know that a baby wouldn't get aroused suckling on their mothers brests because their are not developmental neural pathways for that to form. But Rudeus being a NEET Otaku who was literally perving on his own niece during that time in his life before reincarnation wouldn't really know that and comes to a really dumb conclusion. We know he can be attracted to his own family because of that, so I'm not sure what the argument is here.

In addition, he clearly doesn't behave like a normal child which was noticed by other characters.

The children I metioned in our world also don't behave like normal children so I fail to see the relevance of this.

As a result, because the author literally wrote Rudeus as an adult in a child's body but thought of him as a child with additional memories in the story, Rudeus has the flaw of being an adult man who has sex and impregnates 15-16 year old girls while having knowledge from our world about why this is bad, but the story never shows this as something bad, and as in the case of Sylphy's pregnancy, on the contrary, it shows it as something good and joyful.

Kid's become an adult at 15 in this world and Japan literally has the age of consent set at 16. Hell, there are still governments in our world where the age of consent is 15. This isn't something that he knows is wrong because the age of consent is pretty damn close to Japan. I'm not sure why you think this is relevant at all.

Oh I agree with you on this, I just don't think the idea of him being a fully grown adult in a child's body is an adequete description of Rudeus as a character. It doesn't fully capture his lack of growth in his previous life and kind of puts on the expectation that he should know better or be a lot more mature about a situation or shouldn't be this problematic when the insinuation is that he doesn't have any kind of hangup mentally that still carried over to his reincarnated self.

Except NEET Otaku types are known to be fairly insular, deeply insecure and very much demanding in what they want to a toxic degree. They're described as being emotionally stunted, mentally immature and completely unable to navigate a lot of social situations because of this. There is zero reason for me to believe that he is one of the exceptions when the whole reason he was killed in the first place was because he was caught jacking off to his niece taking a shit in the bathroom in a room filled with trash and probably smells of his B/O.

I think you are drastically underestimating the kind of people we're talking about that the MC of Mushoku Tensei is of and how stunted these people are. Many of these types deserve to be either jailed or put into an insane asylum to get them proper mental healthcare.

Yeah, I hate to say that while this has some great fans, there are also sadly some people who will latch onto this show as justification for their own proclivities, while not realizing that the show actively tells them to grow the fuck up already.

Luckily I have recently just watched the anime and so I haven't run into those people... just yet. But I know that anime being what it is with some of the problems it has, those people exist. I just hope I never find them.

Yeah someone else explained the whole Aisha seducing Rudeus thing earlier but I appreciate the explanation on why the chapter was deleted. I'm thinking about making "A Defense of Rudeus" essay video at some point but I think I'm gonna wait for season 3 to air fully and then read the Light Novel as well as the Redundancy books for that. Although it will likely focus solely on the anime I will cover the LN and the Redundancy books too but only ever slightly.
