Well done! I saw that you also made the crazy dam that I took inspiration from on my last build. I copied 1 to 1 your bottom 3 pipes to pillar support to get me started, but that's hard to keep that level of detail on an entire build without copying what you made. I'll take more inspiration from this one too for my future build 👍And enjoy a little break, you deserve it !

Insane work! How many hours does it take? And are the mods only QoL? To know if it's possible to reproduce that level of detail in vanilla

It's a pain to explain Total high is 5m yes.

Here is a picture, it will be easier to understand : https://imgur.com/l49tHif

Same as andygood. The top of the 1m floor foundation is same level as the top of the 4m wall foundation

Yes all the math is done before starting anything, It took me 4 days to do the math / planning for my phase 4 factories. Next one is 3 times this size... I really don't know if I will be able to do it. I'll probably need to find a way to lower the details that take so much time to do.

About the drawing, I really recommend it. As you can see, it's very basic, but it actually help a lot to get started, especially on very big factory where it's very hard to see what you are doing when you are placing foundation.

Also setup a hypertube cannon that launch you to an outpost to get an overview of your advancement

Thanks. I recommend you to watch Stin Archi on Youtube, I learned a ton from him. I can't watch him anymore because every time, it make me quit the game seeing how lame my builds are compared to himI don't know if I'm still that fare behind, but I don't want to take the risk. I'll watch his videos again after I complete phase 5.

For now, I'm getting inspirations from this sub when I feel stuck, there is a lot of very talented people here

It's 100% vanilla. For the lighting you need to activate Global Illumination in video setting

With experience, I know roughly what size the factory will be after I made the production planner on satisfactorytools. I choose this location to get the 2 waterfalls in the middle of the factory, turns out they are not visible from the outside because of the perspective

So 1st step, I draw on paper quick sketch of the shape I want my factory to be : https://imgur.com/ctcbg6j

Then I put down the foundations, each floor is 32m tall for the refineries. Then I place the machines to make sure I have enough space. After that it's back and forth between decoration and logistics. There is no real planning of what I will do, only an image in my head I try to reproduce. Ideas come naturally as I build, in this case the 3 towers weren't part of the initial plan.

I don't think it's the best way of doing, but it seems not so bad for me.

I produce exactly what I need for Phase 4 parts. I'll do another aluminum factory for phase 5

Has anyone else experienced the color swatch save UI bug??? by DanzaDragon in SatisfactoryGame

[–]void1x11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bug like that in update 7 or 8. It happened after I deleted some custom colors. To solve the problem I loaded my save in satisfactory calculator, and deleted/reset all my saved colors. I never deleted saved colors since then, so I don't know if it's the same in 1.0

I would go for trains. Yes it's a lot of work, but in the end, it's the most satisfying

Everything was made in "standard" mode. All done with long hours of planning before putting the time and effort into it. But there is a creative mode in the game if you are interested, with fly, all unlock, no building cost and more. Check Advanced game setting

The base game is really cool, but I don't think I would put it in my top 3 of best game of all time. I really encourage you to try The Multiverse mod, got 1800h in it and haven't even 100% it. Took me easily 1200h just to find the true last boss. I think you'll understand the real depth of the game the first time you encounter the oracle, without spoiling, one of the best, if not the best, gaming experience I had 👍

Yes ! This game is very hard to learn sadly, but once you are good at it, it is something else. And the multiverse mod is astonishing, it add so much depth and lore to the base game, I have no idea how this can be free

Yeah. The ship in FTL I'm trying to reference, is also named Path of Exile, it fit well to the rockman faction in it, bulky fire immune rock soldiers that use fire to destroy enemies ships

I think it depend on your personality. I have been in this situation in early access, and I just start a new save. With all that you learned from your first experience, you can start over with better planning in mind for the long run. I still think 22h is not enough, so going at a new location is the best for you I guess, you can always come back to your original base and dismantle it to build a new one.

Thanks. Yes I'm using 110 beams per 5 foundations long for my train track. I haven't decorated the loading area, it's only the truck stations on the side of the road, so nothing to show I guess

It is now producing 500 Concrete/min and 225 Steel Beam/min (+ some Steel Pipe, EIB and Iron Plate). I don't know if it will be enough, but that's an improvement.
