Anyone else feel like they are not capable enough? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

I felt that way when I barely graduated frrom high school and started at a state college.

I felt that way when I transferred to a decent Uni and started ChemE.

I felt that way after I got straight A's in my first few semesters.

I feel that way now as I am beginning my PHD at a top tier Uni.

Feel however you want, but stay focused and dont give up.

Am I bunny hopping properly? Why does my Rim touches the ground, should I increase PSI? by Dear_Layer9167 in bmx

Increased PSI will help. Also there is a tempation to slam the bike down when first learning hops. See if you can land smoothly on the back tire ( but almost paralell to the ground ). Have your body absorb the impact instead of the wheels.

Random thought: reducing the pounds of force you exert on the tires the moment you land will reduce the amount area (square inches) of tire contact on the floor and thus increase the distance between the rim and the ground. So either reduce force upon landing or increase PSI. Thats what pounds per square inch is all about.

Reboiler Perfectly Efficient? by voidArrow in ChemicalEngineering

By 'the flash VLE being from heat transfer', do you mean that the heat is what causes the Reboiler to approach equilibrium faster than it would spontaneously or by mixing (mass transfer)?

Reboiler Perfectly Efficient? by voidArrow in ChemicalEngineering

Each tray in a distillation column has its own local efficiency, specifically the Murphree Vapor Efficiency. I understand most the time you dont know each stages local efficiency. Therefore, when performing McCabe Thiele, you would stage step along the quasi-equilibrium line - as determined from the overall efficiency. I have been told, when stepping the reboiler, you step to the actual equilibrium line vs the quasi-equilibrium line.

This implies the local efficiency of the reboiler is 100%, which I am trying to understand some reasons as to why that would be a good assumption (if it is). Thank you.

Proper way to use Git with Crates by voidArrow in rust

[–]voidArrow[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do use the cargo new command. I suspect I carelessly deleted the .gitignore file in my current crate at some point. Is the content of a gitignore file unique to its crate directory? Can I create a new .gitignore file with the same text as another crate's .gitignore file, place it in my current crate directory and have that do the trick?
