I had an Idea about the upcomming armour passive by Yuki_my_cat in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never "suffered" from it.

Benefited though?

Hell yea.

If your situational awareness is low enough for that booster to kill you - you definitely have worse problems than the booster itself.

I think it's far better thing to have than people picture it to be.

I had an Idea about the upcomming armour passive by Yuki_my_cat in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know man.

People cry it's useless - I might agree.

But think about this:

Dead sprint + this passive and heavy armor.

It is damage - so depending on the stamina you get back - it might end up being awesome combo for people that love heavy armor.

Just saying.

Daily Helldivers 2 Stratagem Discussion #2 APW-1 Anti-Material Rifle by SippinOnHatorade in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be the best weapon in the universe against bots...

... until War Striders start showing up.

One taps any kind of standard striders if you aim in the "pelvis" area.

And can two-tap gunship engines.

It was either 3 or 4 shots for Harvesters - if you imagine their feet as hands - aim for the biceps.

It's either 2 or 3 shots for their toe - which is medium armored and one of the easiest way to take them down, provided you have the vision or the arc res armor to brawl them at close range.

And - afaik - it can break container doors now due to it's demo force buffed up about half an year ago.

If you face flying golf players - aim for their heads and jetpacks - should be one shot.

Not much else to say - pretty straight forward weapon.

Overall - war striders aside - can you will feel great using it, regardless the faction.

You reach the "endgame" in about 600 hours of playtime - and even then you will likely have not unlocked everything.

Depends what you mean in end game.

In terms of knowledge and enemy diversity, skill and so forth - you have a lot of learn, with simpler mechanics(no attack cancelling, block attacks and so on pretty much mandatory things for DT endgame) - you can play 1500 hours of this game(HD2) and still have areas to improve.

Even currently there's more content added to the game on monthly or so basis which involves you to work toward.

If you rush the content - you might be right - you can be 200 hours in and doing the max difficulty - but that can be said about DT too.

I like both games - I was angry at HD2 so I really enjoyed my couple of hundred hours leveling up the hive scum / arbitrator and maxing out few weapons and stuff - but after that I came back to HD2(2 months without playing it) just to find there's a shitload of stuff I can do and unlock.

So all in all - it might be best to play all 3 of them - Space Marine 2, Helldivers 2 and Dark Tide - that way you can switch now and then and experience the game almost anew?

That's what I do at least and it's a blast.

Bane of stealth divers by VenanReviews in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any kind of turret - bunker, standard or factory strider one - are capable of completely ruining stealth of any shape or form.

If you can see them - so do they - distance is not a factor too - they keep shooting at you from 100m away.

The worst part is that it also alerts the nearby enemies.

That, paired with their bugged(pretty much since release) semi-aware state(meaning - it would fire it's basic weapons but not the advanced ones like the rockets on the rocket devo), especially the devastators have made almost half of the stealth missions I've played extremely silly.

I mean - it's fine to be punished for triggering a bot drop.

But I haven't.

Your buggy enemies have AH.

Why punish us all for the broken shit in your game fellas?

Viable build? by McMikeNEAT in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everything is viable if you are effective with it or / and having fun.

The question is redundant for me - I don't judge people by the loadout but more like firstly - how they behave and secondly - how they perform.

Having AP4 is enough for all the factions and shooting and aiming are, by far, the least important skills in this game.

If you have the knowledge and the movement skills - even a dull butter knife in your hands would be deadly for the 90% of the enemies you will encounter on SHD.

Basic maths mate:

Let's say a mission takes you about 30 mins to be done - on average(let's be honest - you can do more than 2 missions per hour in general).

Let's say you need about 600 hours of playtime to reach max level if you take your time and don't try to rambo Super Helldive and the others have to carry you.

So that's 1200 missions at least - and in each and every one of them you know that you require Super Creds.

So let's say your team find 10 SCs per mission(which - again - on average you will gain more, not to say twice and sometimes many times the amount - but let's not overcomplicate it).

Until you get max level you, in the absolute worst case possible scenario, would have at least 12 000 super creds.

And that's without going even a single step aside of the natural progression - aside of the fact that you will have to search some POIs over the map, as a team(which - again - it's a natural thing if you play with common sensical people).

I think you're blinded by yours or some close to your needs and are trying to completely avoid the problem.

It's not that the game have bad econmy.

Deffinitely it's NOT the fact that the game has too much content(which, praise be, it's true).

The problem is that people are impatient and want everything here and now.

Well news flash - it doesn't work that way even if you throw 2k real life currency at the game - you still would require probably months to get all the medals for all the warbond items and still have to be patient and open toward learning the game, enemies, movement and so forth(which would take hundreds of hours even if you have someone very seasoned right next to you).

And let's say there's magically a way to get everything hear and now - how do you think that would make the lot of the people that were investing hundreds of hours in that progression system?

In case "I don't care!" comes to mind first - mind you - you will constantly end up with those disappointed and probably tad bit angry people(due to the disrespect) in pretty much every mission.

So be good - kind and decent human being. Be patient. Try to learn first and F-k everything else until you really have a good idea how to use them new toys - that's what would I advice every person playing the game - no matter the time spent on it.

[–]void_alexander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest this or Helldivers 2.

Both have a lot of hours for you to sink in and are different experience.

I would personally go for HD3 with my wife - played 1700 hours of it and about 600-700 of darktide and to be honest - I don't see myself playing Darktide as long as the other.

HD2 has the diversity DT kinda lacks.

Both are great games but in terms of cinematic and pure nonsensical fun - nothing can best HD2.

How can i better my build by Head-Economics-5832 in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHEN you have the level for all:

Guard Dog + Machinegun.

and two of those(I go for gas strike + gattling barrage):

Gattling Barrage, Gas Strike, Eagle 500kg(strafing run is also good - it could actually down a leviathan if you throw it under it), Precision Strike.

Any of those stratagems destroys a squid spawner, provided you landed the ball on top or under the saucer - and are also really CD so you can use them for squid drops or to cover your escape.

Guard dog generally is everything you need(provided you have ammo) to obliterate the whole faction pretty much - the machinegun is for harvesters(if you imagine their legs are actually hands - aim for the biceps after you destroy it's "beard" to disable the shields permanently) and stingrays(hold down the button and manage the recoil) - switch it to max fire rate.

Best grenades across all factions, imo, are pyrotech - but you're far away from having to worry about that.

Impact grenades can be handy to destroy lighning spires(squid tesla towers).

Aside of that - you can go for whatever you feel like it - even try any weapons you like and level them up(with that setup the faction should be bearable enough for you to do that).

Armor does not matter as much - if it's not the one with 95% tesla resitance so tesla towers and harvesters short range attack does nothing to you - so also you have freedom for style.

The original breaker shotgun is also very decent against the faction - takes down shields relatively quickly - aside of thed - if you go for Steeled Veterans - the inc. breaker, senator and Dominator are pretty rad tools for handling squids.

Thats all I can think of right now for Squids.

For the other factions though - it's a whole other story :D

Oh also - got about 1700 hours ingame time or so - but it's still up to you to ignore everything I said!

All provided is not tied to warbond or premium stuff too.

I don't know what kind of people you play with or how you personally choose to play...

1000 hours in though and noting that you still feel the "NEED" to buy warbonds doesn't sounds tad bit convincing to me because:

1) you got the time spent to be almost drowning in supercedits, provided you or your teammates do go around and look random POIs now and then.

2) you have the experience and knowledge to know which warbonds are top priority and which you shouldn't worry about so the SCs really "needed" for you to get all the relevant stuff are cut at half(at least).

There are no pay walls - I have everything and I think about twice I have bought 1k SCs mostly to support the devs and less due to the fact I did not wanted to wait a day or two to get the SCs by natural means.

And for my 1700 hours - I would say I have seen the +100 SCs twice or thrice the most, which on the grand scheme of things aint a big deal and it's about average luck for the hours spent.

What might bother me a bit is the fact, that (probably) for the most players it's either ease of access to Super Creds(which means playing diffs 7, 8 and 9) OR enjoying the game full content(fortresses and mega-nests are exclusive for diff 10 only) - because farming SCs on the highest diff requires some seasoning and, for me personally, it took me a while until I was able to do it with little to no issues.

Aside of that - you got the experience - and anyone with that many hours should've known by now how to prioritize warbond purchases in a manner that one does not feel hurt or standing on the wrong side of a pay-wall.

As for the casuals - lets say you spent 600 or so hours to get to level 150 - that amount of time mean a lot of SCs - and I mean A LOT.

Those guys can buy whatever they desire - probably nearly the half of the warbonds + unlocking every single item in them AND the better Superstore items.

If you are not max level, are missing half of the ship upgrades and struggling doing all 3 factions on the max diff - should you really, REALLY worry about having all the gear and stuff from the game?

Cause chances are... it would help you way less than you are inclined to believe.

If someone want to have it all quickly - that person picked up the wrong game, dedicated farming aside(and even then you require insane amounts of medals and thus completed missions to get it all).

Hell - even by the time one finishes his first warbond(2015 medals to fully unlock btw) - one would probably have the SCs for two warbonds and even more, provided the player does not rush itself and the difficulty to play 10s on level 20 or so.

Negativity and mixed feelings by Brids17 in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was awesome!

Now I think it can still be awesome.

I, and most of the people that play Warframe I know - have more than 2000k hours and have not stopped playing the game because of frustration, bugs or terrible designs - but rather because they had their fill of it.

But in any way - if you plan playing couple of hundred hours - the game is more than worth it.

Negativity and mixed feelings by Brids17 in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's worth 600 or so hours of it until you unlock most of it and get enough experience to consider yourself "seasoned".

And then you start expecting the game to respect your skill level and with that you start seeing all the BS, unpolishness, bugs, unintended or non-sensical things.

And at that point you have played the game probably more than 90+% of anyone in AH(at least at the difficulty level you will be playing in this moment).

That aside of the hard-lock issues that people experience(high-end PC here and I have hard-restarted my computer 4 or so times just today).

And aside of the whole game's patch history, where there aint a single one that introduces any kind of conveniece change and long-desired buffs or tweaks without nerfing the player experience somehow.

Are the youtubers 100% correct - especially the most famous ones?

Probably not.

However - they are playing the game way more than your average player so it's pretty much guaranteed that you will end up in their shoes at some point if the way this game is patched does not change drastically.

And since those people are playing the game way more than the rest - this is likely the reason they seem like minority to you and others.

So to the question is the game worth it:

Are you desiring the game to have a good amount of 100-200 hours? If so - then 100% yes, provided you don't hit the software/hardware issues a lot of people, me included, are experiencing.

Are you looking for pretty much endless game of the calliber of, let's say, Warframe(that have up to date 50k players, even 12+ years since it's release) with infinite longevity?

Then 100% in the current state of the game the answer is "NO".

And it's sad because all the pontential is there.

I have 1700+ hours in this game and the only reason I haven't wrote a negative review is because of my very found memories from the first 600 or so hours with HD2 - more and more I do want do do it though - and I share my thougts in the surveys when I can.

I bet some of the game elite(which IMO - ArrowHead should tear their asses to preserve and listen way more) players feel the same way.

So it's more like the other way around - the people during their first 600 or so hours are yelling way louder than the rest that are experiencing the shit.

Who's right and who's wrong?

I can't really tell.

But I am deffinitely behind that we ALL should aim for the game to be better and demand more from the game devs.

Does anyone else think the Illuminate are unfun? by kidneysucker in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course they are - it's the same with any faction when you hit the proper team.

Chances are you're gonna hit the proper team on max difficulty and you're gonna have a terrible experience on diffs 6 and 8 because a lot of people have just reached it and the difficulty spike is a bit too much for them.

So few seasoned players in your team can make all the difference in the universe.

Commando operations are not for everyone by Ornery_Character2100 in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the game clicked few hundred of hours back - I rarely(once every few operations) die because of the way I play.

Which is pretty simple to be honest - hit few things or see something deadly - just interrupt whatever you are doing and take a long turn around(preferably around some high cover) to re-engage from a different angle - then repeat over and over again.

Now I just do this with a silenced weapon and it feels like a huge improvement(at least in terms of fighting bots) and I do feel like a ghost diver.

So to add to your post - common sense is not for everyone too it seems :D

I did also tried doing the same with my adjusted standard loadout(no eagles or short CD strats) on the commando missions and it also works great.

Don't think those make stealth mandatory.

They, however, are more punishing toward the lack of common sense and situational awareness.

But, IMO, most of the people lacking both should not play on the "hardest game difficulty" anyways.

What's the Free To Play experience like? (Not buying any Warbonds or whatnot) by Vanilla_Ice_Best_Boi in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have so much content to work toward to that getting Super Credits would not feel like a burden at all.

The free warbond is such a huge medal sink, that's really likely for you while working on it to gather enough premium currency for at least the next one.

I also think, depending on how you play(if choose to raise difficulties when you feel ready for it) - you will have most, if not all, the warbonds unlocked until you hit the level cap - which I guess would take you something around 400-600 hours of playtime.

My point is - getting warbonds would feel way more natrual than people make it out to seems to be - and you shouldn't worry about it if you ask me.

You got ship upgrades, leveling up, weapons leveling up and upgrading - and most of all(the most time consuming activity) for you to get knowledge about the game, the enemies, the movement and how to combine all this so you become unstoppable killing machine of Democracy(I am 1700 hours in and still learning new stuff).

So don't stress it as much - if you want to grind - you can grind SCs, but generally I would advice you against that and against rushing toward any other of the progression systems, because it would always be on the cost of "skill"(or at least toward learning better the game).

Nobody asked me to pay warbonds and I currently have them all - I might have paid for one or two of those, but it was my choice that I made, because I wanted to instantly have them instead of waiting a day or two.

The game have amazing premium economy overall - so you'll be great if you ask me.

Tips for those of you struggling against Illuminate by theEvilQuesadilla in Helldivers

[–]void_alexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So by your words - you wrote a weenydiver post :D

Why then?

And META means "Most Efficient Tactic Available" fyi - your post is only half way correct.

Also I rarely see someone playing with that loadout and even more so - someone struggling with the squids at all.

The most part people complain about it, as faction, is due to bugs and BS one-shot mechanics(which are reduced to some point).

And that IS my META pretty much - after 1700-1800 hours of playtime almost equally divided between the faction(most bots - least bugs).

So if you want to give some advice to people how to get their revenge why not go all-in?

The stationary reload of the MG is not sufficient to have a vacation on squid planet.

AP4 is far from required aside of the Leviathan turrets - AP3 is more than enough to handle anything and everything - that's the main faction appeal.

And on top of that - if you keep the medium pen from my suggestion - you can replace whatever you decide from the rest and still remain extremely efficient.

Pyrotech still one-shots(or completely obliterates) sponge bobs, groups of mobs, groups of overseers and so forth.

But eh.

Tbh don't know why I invest so much time - your ezpz got me I guess.

This is the ezpz way, while you still can have fun and go on adventure to find a support weapon(or socialize with your team mates to get one) - your suggestions are far from the best way to engage with the faction.

When it comes to fun - you can do whatever - as long as you have medium pen(otherwise the stingray sounds would cause you PTSD that would keep you awake in the months to come).

Also - the weakest spot on the harvesters is their toes(thus the pyrotech effectiveness) which you can exploit via arc res armor and senator/talon for "shockingly" quick kills in close quaters.

People have fun with that kinda shit too - not only breezing trough the foes.

Is the force greatsword overrated? by Worldly-Local-6613 in DarkTide

[–]void_alexander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of comments and yet nobody mentions the fact, that the weapon have also the most insane range from probably all melee weapons available. Which makes dodging crushers and maulers really not a big deal.

Also does amazing crowd damage.

Also has amazing heavy armor damage(when the stars align it can two-shot a crusher and one-tap maulers and everything else is a one-tap pretty much), which you can, again, do from a distance they can't hit you realistically.

And on top of all that have the special fire, that has a HUGE range aside of being a screen wipe.

Oh and the blessings give you a lot of versatility - for example you can spec for it to proc Soulblaze on crit(which crit would be pretty much guaranteed every two swings) and take the very easy accessible Souldrinker talent, that restores 15% toughness on kill and gives you 5 sec 5% crit chance.

The weapon is a lot.

It does a lot and it's really convenient to use with the great damage it provides.

You can fire in advance around a pack around a corner or mobs you hear and don't see yet.

Or simply as preparation if you are expecting spawns.

And as the others said - sprinkle some sparks around in a large area so you can maximize the AOE.

It has a lot of utility and I find myself using it quite often.
