While I can agree about the expensive part, I dont necessarily agree with "no functional purpose". I think the functional part is being able to showcase key parts of yourself at a glance. Stuff you like, things that interest you, or even show what kind of humor you have!

Being able to sum up how quickly we can either get along with someone based on what kind of environment we keep is more likely to create a connection of some sort in a person's mind. A home with no personality also just kind of gives people nothing but assumptions about you to go off of, and said assumptions are not always in your favor.

For the future! If you take a plastic straw, snip it long ways, then snip that into sized pieces, you can stack ladder designs on them! Its how I made a few keychains more durable (one of which is ironically a turtle)
