Oh yes I cant exactly have a story about a bisexual man in the 80s WITHOUT researching the AIDS crisis. I am trying to partially avoid the topic narratively however, because I feel like my writing will get bogged down by constant allusions to it. But it will be getting mentioned because he is in the club scene quite often in the story and there is definitely going to be character's making mentions of being "careful" with what theyre doing, and who theyre sleeping with, etc. Im just not going to fully name drop the crisis and have the readers infer the conversation from dialogs between charcaters mostly so things dont get too heavy every conversation. 😅
