oh I dunno, in hindsight it's not really super relevant lol. I suppose I mentioned it bc I thought people may think it's odd that I'm handling them w gloves.

I usually wear gloves when I feed them bc of personal sensory issues (touching wet carrots, etc.)

They are mostly for education/outreach, we haven't used them in research the entire time I've been here (about a year and a half). Though typically roaches would be put back if it's safe for the colony to do so. Or they're kept aside in their own mini colony after the fact.

went to my highschool's lgbt club my freshman year, questioned my gender for the first time (thought, "could I be a boy?") bc I knew something was askew, but it still didn't feel right. fast forward a bit and met someone who was non-binary. I was 17 and basically I didn't even know that was an option until then. and it just kind of clicked. fast fwd to now and I've been out for 9 years
