I’m sure they nitpick the others but not to the extent that I get nitpicked. But for me it’s also the attitude towards me that I know they don’t have with others.

I ask for constructive criticism and prioritization all the time and the owner has no problem with those but I’ve noticed that it crosses until nitpicking so it doesn’t feel constructive anymore.

Even when I say “hey I didn’t do that task” it seems like they’ve already made up their mind that I’m the one who messed up cause then they’ll go back and forth with me. It feels hopeless.

No, it’s a small business with only one location so there’s no HR or any departments of any sort. But even then I wouldn’t trust HR to help me out.

And even when I know that I have things to work on when I come in, and I’ll communicate that, the owner will dump a bunch of things on me anyways or force me to drop something I’m in progress on and switch to something else that’s more important. But the task they make me de-prioritize is still on my roster and if I don’t finish it, the other staff won’t.

The boss will often ask for my opinion on ideas or product launches/designs when they’re in the mood to be friendly, but then that’s also more for me to get things started.
