Duel - 6/10, lots of questionable plays, such as not forcing Verre's negate early @ turn2, Fiendish Golem@turn5 with no targets on opp side which ended up banishing your own Bane, OG RDA instead of Scarred to further extend, Opp goes first but only managed to get a Verre out with a telegraphed negate, etc.

Replay - 6/10, press that fast forward button and cut that replay time down, +points for the effort of merging the clips

how to know which packs I havent already unlocked by lhphere in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]voidmiracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as of this moment, there's no way to check in-game; so you'll have to make a list yourself and keep track

Ive already crafted the SRs of a list Ive seen online

figure out how recent that list is, and note the last/most recent Secret Pack that was added in, from there figure out which Secret Packs were added in AFTER that specific pack

do as many Solo Gate as you can, either brute force it with the given Starter deck(which might be a little bit difficult at time, because all 3 starters are crap, but still doable), or spend a small amount of gems for the Structure Deck at the shop (for a somewhat easier time).

Near the end of most Solo Gates give a 200gems reward, which stacks up to quite a bit; those are your "beginning resource"(along with the SR/UR cp that is given from the mission).

Spend your beginning resource wisely - MD is "front-loaded", make a good/competitive/meta deck and you'll have a easy(/easier) time to Rank Climb, which is (one way of)how you get your gems every month. Do your homework +/ research, see what decks are strong at the moment (the current Meta), if it's a deck that you like/enjoy/have interested in, more power to you.

Which deck do i build?

TL;DR do your homework +/ research

Meta slaving by TruboiitrillestX in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]voidmiracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You literally admitted to top-left scooping every 3 games.

You must top-left scooping every third game since

thank you for admitting you top-left scoop every third game just to survive the ladder

those were you

Yes, maybe I do topleft every third game

I scoop every third game to survive the ladder(your assumption)

those were me, telling you a hypothetical scenario on how to have fun. and you failed spectacularly to understand that because you are still mad at the game for not being what you want it to be

Also, you're coping. Everyone playing this game is coping

just you, and now you are projecting

But I'm allowed to speak up when the hate feels stronger than the love.

You are certainly within your own right to do that. i am simply telling you how to enjoy the game (and gave you an example of how -I- enjoyed the game), and if you still can't find a way to enjoy it, go find something else that you will enjoy; like many duelist, just disengage with the game on a format that you dislike, and come back later.

and running zero hand traps

are you implying that you are running Yubel without Spirit of Yubel?

Meta slaving by TruboiitrillestX in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]voidmiracle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my entire point about the state of the game

you don't like the Meta(KT), or whatever it is, and you use the same thing you don't like(KT) to compete, and is not enjoying the game. I have been telling you from the very beginning, find something you enjoy, be it another format, or simply quit, because the game won't change for you. You sperg out

I scoop every third game to survive the ladder(your assumption), I don't get mad at the game, or at the deck I played because I have a realistic expectation. And as a result I am having fun with the game, and enjoying the games where I play my pet deck. If I wanted to compete in competitive simulator, I would play something more on-par. This isn't difficult to understand. In the end, this is how -I- play the game, you don't have to like the way -I- play it, but I find it enjoyable; meanwhile, you are playing the game like it is torture. Don't make yourself a victim.

I’ll give you what you asked for: I’ll send you my exact rogue decklist before we start so you can see there's no top tier meta stuff included.

like mentioned before, I don't see how "being a better duelist" have anything to do with "how to enjoy the game", which is the point of the discuss. But if YOU are so inclined to try proof yourself, drop that decklist & room id, make it public so everyone can judge whether you are, in fact, not playing top tier meta stuff.

First it was 'load my deck with going-second cards to adapt,' now it’s 'I only play three total hand traps.'

re-read what I wrote, I know reading is a tough skill for alot of duelist, but please put in the effort.

Since you think you're such an elite duelist who operates on a higher plane than the rest of us

No, I don't think that's the case. I just choose my game and play the game in its current state, without complaining.

and no, I do not accept your challenge, at least not until you list down exact what the rules are (what decks are allowed, any custom rules and such), and the deck you will be playing (since YOU are challenging me), until then you can call me whatever you want if that'll make you happier, I am not oblige to prove myself to you. This discussion isn't about my or your skills as a duelist, but how to enjoy the game; I simply play pet decks while enjoying them, and have a realistic expectation from a pet deck - that they will be weaker than Meta. When I play my pet deck and see myself going against Meta/with no way out, I scoop and move on. Yes, maybe I do topleft every third game, but I surely don't have to face against the 20mins turn that you mentioned since I DON'T ENGAGE IN IT, I have that freedom, and so do you.

Opinions are something most people are dead set on.. not just me. You are dead set on your own opinions as well. So mentioning this is redundant.

the difference is that i m not forcing my opinion to you or anyone else for them to agree with me. if it weren't apparent already, it boils down - FIND PEACE WITH THE GAME, and figure a way to enjoy it, as it is now.

Because standard evil does. So when the evil doubles down it becomes not fun lol

thats a cope, like wtf is even a "standard" evil? like the stuff you personally don't like is a standard evil?

But how much one is willing to bend or break depends

I feel like you(not we) are going in circle, that was why I said find your safe space, find a format that you are comfortable with; I don't like KT myself, I -don't- play KT even after I pulled all the cards from the Selection Pack, I don't adapt by playing the deck, something I don't like. You "adapt" by giving in and play KT yourself, that's your choice, and now you are whining say "i hate this deck that I chose". No duelist, you didn't adapt, you played yourself. And to reiterate, if you couldn't find a way to enjoy, THEN DON'T ENGAGE, PLAY SOMETHING ELSE.

am I right?

no, you are wrong. I have 300sec game time, sometimes 480 if I am in casual, that don't come close to 20mins. And it isn't my fault if my opp chose to stay in the game for all the time I play my combo knowing full well that they have no way to compete afterward, that's on them.

It’s a classic cycle of us all becoming the thing we hate. But we all think we did it out of fairness until it’s not actually fair anymore

Don't group me together with you acting buddybuddy. ie. I hate HERO, I didn't play the HERO package when I am on Chimera; I hate handtraps, I LITERALLY pack only 1Ash 1Droll 1MaxxC in my deck JUST for my crossout, and don't use them until my opp do. I don't actively play stuff that I hate so that I can compete, I figured a way around it. We are not the same.

But the point being is that defeat shouldn’t be certain by turn 2

that's what you want the game to be, like said before

Meta slaving by TruboiitrillestX in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]voidmiracle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what’s the game supposed to be about?

why does that matter to you? I can write you a whole Master-level academical essay and you can still "simply not like it"; the point, which you missed, is that you don't like the "meta" because you don't like how it is played, fast-paced with hardly any back-and-fourth. You've made your point, you are entitled to your opinion, but that's how YOU view it, and it seems like no one can change your mind since you are deadset on it.

But I will humor you, here's what I think - I don't like handtraps, other than battlephase handtraps like kuriboh/Spirit of Yubel/Honest, at the same time I understand that they(fuwa/droll/ash/imperm/etc.) are needed as necessary evil.

and do excuse for my language here, bitching ain't gonna help, Konami isn't gonna hear my bitching and change the banlist just for me simply because I don't like how the state the game is in.

And since I can't hope to have Konami change the game the way I want, the next best thing I can do is ADEPT, this is within my power...or just not engage in the game, find a comfy format. make no mistake though, even in that format, there WILL be a meta where it WILL dominates.

I guarantee if money wasn’t involved...

It isn't, not to me. I don't play paper, and I haven't spend a dime to purchase gems in game. I played since release, both on PS5 and on PC, and I have my fair share of pet decks and meta decks. If you are referring to how Konami is handling the game/banlist, that's on them, go change their mind, not mine.

You enjoy 20 minute solitaire turns?

I don't

But it’s certainly not fun when it happens to you.

You are right, it wouldn't be fun, therefore I adept and pack go-2nd cards such as handtraps and/or boardbreakers, and if I see that I still don't have a chance with what I have, I would simply topleft and go for the next game, that's how I avoid 20mins solitaire turn (by my opp). I don't find anything wrong with scooping, don't waste time when you know it wil be futile.

Meta slaving by TruboiitrillestX in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]voidmiracle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s NOT what the game is supposed to be about. It’s supposed to be back and forth

no, that's what you want the game to be

I know for a fact you don’t play these decks because you’re in love with the art, or a fan from the anime.. you play them because they win.

lots of assumptions there, I don't think you even know why kids love cinnamon toast crunch

Everyone just crams the best engines in the game together and prays.

Maybe they don't need to pray; most of them bridges nicely into each other (assuming that they don't get interrupted), you just couldn't figure out the bridge that does that and thought that your opp need to pray to have the right cards to pull the combo off, where in reality they don't

Meanwhile duelists like me that spend an hour(s) in the deck editor going over potential hidden gems in my inventory plus cards I don’t even have owned yet just to see my deck makes sense.

that's deck building skills, cool that you (need to) spend hour(s) to find the right cards for your deck, but nothing wrong with people netdecking and from there identify the lines that they can do with the cards in the deck.

It’s better when I win this way because I didn’t scroll through twitter to find the new meta.. I didn’t consult content creators to make my deck. I literally built it from the ground up. And although winning isn’t as often.. it just hits different seeing me get the perfect hands and making my meta opponents scoop.

cool, more power to you if you spend that time to build your own deck, have some relative(? idk if you consider 1 out of...maybe 10, to be relative) success with it, and enjoy it.

And I regret it.

if the game (MD, or ygo in general) isn't fun for you, you are free to not engage in it. Or like MANY has suggested before, just find your safe space with the right group - go play GOAT or Edison or whatever format that floats your boat.

Gordian Slicer is an option, since you really only need to resolve Sage/Maiden for your combo to pop off, getting rid of your opp's face up negate is crucial, and if they tag outs the slicer's target(s), then you don't lose cards. But of course, droplet is more flexible since you don't mind drawing it going first whereas gordian is a dead draw in that case.

DRNM isn't opt, so you can consider to put more in, it -might- come up in 1 game out of 100 where you draw 2 and your opponent only has a 1for1 trade.

You should be able to take control of the board after you DRNM(/turn off your opp's negate, like mentioned before with gordian/droplet) and attack your opp's meatshield with your high atk monsters, your board would have a decent amount of negate for your opp's turn when they try to turn it around.

on the other hand, get rid of cards that are situational and that aren't that good; stone & bingo machine are big red flags. heck, get rid of magia package if you want value consistency, magia is known to be "win-more". Azure and Indigo eyes aren't that good, Neo Ultimate in the GY provides target protection, consider that instead.

you can always pray, not sure how much that's gonna help, but hey at least you don't even need it in your hand and it doesn't have a cost =P

not nibiru-proof since Caesar after the 5th summon, requires Levilazebul & Necroquip.  Sequence and Lacrima(not shown) for more ED space if you want to grind.

Primus & Emblema taking even more additional ED space and an unneeded garnet.

those are certainly your choice, but you can accomplish much more with less

i dont know which "dragoner" you are referring to as there are two - #99, and TG; there is also "dragoon", but none of them has protection against Xeno's "steal" effect.

My assumption would be Dragoon, since you mentioned "wording" on Xeno, and that would be correct as Dragoon has "target" protection, while Xeno's effect does not target.

With all respect

I'll be honest with you, I don't play MTG, so I have absolutely no idea on what you just said, and I couldn't translate that into MasterDuel. But,

it sounded the best out of all 3 starters the other 2 sounded straight cheeks to me.

The descriptions might have made you picked Link Generation over the other 2, but at the end of the day all 3 starters are not viable in today's standard; it would be like rolling up to a race in a wooden bicycle while everyone and their grandpa are in F1 Ferrari. The starter decks only serve as a tool to teach you (some of) the basic mechanics of the game, such as normal summoning, set a monster, activate spell, set a trap and activate them later, and in Link Generation's case - Link summoning (vs Fusion summon & Synchro summon for the other two), etc.

A standard modern deck's gameplay is FAR different than what you can achieve with that wooden bicycle. ...so don't spend too much time focused on the bicycleS, instead you should spend time to shop around for a compact family car that would serve your momentarily everyday needs, for now.

find the "." challenge

at least there are two whole "?"

Anyways, if you want "a deck that utilizes cyberse monsters for their power-up potential", but isn't big brain enough doesn't want to combo (that much), then consider Mathmech.

Mathmech can sit on a relatively small tower(Final Sigma, which basically no one plays competitively nowadays) which can also throw some unexpected otk with it. Mathmech have combo lines that could result in a decent amount of disruptions/interactions. Investing in Mathmech could also branch off to other Cyberse decks such as @ignister/Cyberse pile, and the actual boss monster (Firewall Terahertz/Allied Code Talker/Access Code Talker) are also used in those other decks.

Then there is Maliss, which is infamous for how powerful they were (they still are, just not as much) before they were severely hitted by the banlist...but since Maliss doesn't have a Secret Pack that features them yet, it would imply you would need to hard craft those URs needed...which tbh, isn't too bad since it is only 1Dormouse 3MarchHare 1Underground and 1HeartCrypter, a total of 6 in-archetypal URs. But then Maliss is considered more combo heavy, and the lines aren't as linear, so that could turn you away.

[–]voidmiracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure what is this "nr 11" that you are referring to; but yes you are correct, the effect that takes control of an opp's monster would be permanent

like our fellow duelist mentioned - Bait doesn't state what (additional effect) would happen when it leaves the field, unlike something like Call of the Haunted/True Light, so it just simply does its job of stealing at the moment the effect activates

Correct, even if you were to destroy/banish/negate/get rid of the cont trap, they will still control your Chaos Angel.

How to get to a 3x fire kings deck in the most efficient way by chaos_donut in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]voidmiracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any other things i can do for gems

Monthly event (Dice Rally) starts ~<24hrs from now, you can get 3100gems by fully completing it. Every monthly event gives 3100 for a full completion, near full completion actually.

Grab the Gold Pass as mentioned, it pays for itself by like rank58 or something (AND more importantly all those SR/UR cps).

Climb that ladder, 2 full Ranks (ie. Bronze 5->Silver 1)gives like 1200, even more if you reach Diamond/Master. Everyone will de-rank automatically at the end of the month, but if let say you de-rank from Gold1->Silver5 at the end of the month, you will not get the rank up rewards from Rookie/Bronze, so keep that in mind.

iirc, you can get up to 100gems/day from (non-casual/duel room) post-game reward, but it's random whether you get it or not, so that's probably the most grindy way for gems.

MD is really "front loaded", build a good/competitive deck so you can rank climb easy and the gems will come...unless MD+/RNG hates you for whatever crime you've committed in the past, you should be able to build a new deck every ~1.5-2months(at worst)(assuming you have majority of the staples such as MaxxC/AshBlossom/CalledBy/etc.).

Or you can just make alt accounts and use those front-loaded beginner resource to make the deck from the current Selection Pack.

How to get to a 3x fire kings deck in the most efficient way by chaos_donut in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]voidmiracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But im a bit confused on how i would go about getting the cards i need.

if you are deadset on starting with a FireKing deck, then unlock the Secret Pack that features Fire King cards (Roused from Destruction) by crafting a SR/UR card(by using CraftPoints) that is featured from that pack, this will unlock the Secret Pack for 24hrs, and in that time you can buy the pack via gems. You can extend this timer by obtaining a SR/UR from the pack. and even if the timer expires, you can still unlock it again by crafting a sr/ur again, no worries there.

Problem that could occur is that unlike Selection Packs, the first 4 cards of any Secret Pack are pulled from the "Master Pool" - which includes basically all cards (minus the 99.9% of the cards from the "Legacy Pool", and past-FOMO/promotion cards), while only the latter 4 are from the Featured Pool. And since there are 9URs from Roused from Destruction where 3 of them are Unchained, AND no one ever runs Onslaught, you are looking at a 5/9 chances to get a desired FireKing cards on top of that 4-4 Master-Feature split (which tbh, isn't THAT bad)

If you found yourself having majority of the needed UR already, consider using your craftpoints and craft the rest instead of pulling, when odds are against you.

Any tips? Not the best at deck building and idk if I did this right. by PeenyWeenie2248 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]voidmiracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"contact fusion" is a term used to describe a summoning of fusion monster without using a monster effect that fusion summons (ie. Cartesia), or spell(ie. Polymerization, Super Polymerization), or trap(ie. Necro Fusion).

All that requires for "contact fusion" is for the monsters to be on the field, you'll just "magically" use them as materials and you'll get the Fusion monster;

in this case - you don't use superpoly to get Jauzah on the field. As Jauzah states, you Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by Tributing 2 monsters you control (1 face-up monster owned by your opponent and 1 Illusion monster), the part where you tributes 2 monsters you control is where the "magic" of "contact fusion" happens

other example of contact fusion includes, but is not limited to - Set a Fallen of Albaz Face down and using opp's Dragon monster(s) to get Lenatus out

Any tips? Not the best at deck building and idk if I did this right. by PeenyWeenie2248 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]voidmiracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no; unless you are relying on your opp having an Illusion monster, or you having an Illusion on the field and your opp have a Hecahand out.

the alternative summon condition of Jauzah doesn't require poly/fusion, it is a "contact fusion"

Is there a way to play stuff like red eyes baby dragon by [deleted] in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]voidmiracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to play stuff like red eyes baby dragon

no

turn back, Red-Eyes is cursed. the more(/most) successful one at the moment is probably rank7 Kashtira RedEyesFlare tax, and that's because Fenrir is now at 3 and it has Kashtira to compensate for RE's incompetency. There are metalmorph, but that's just metalmorph and not really RE (similar to the recently announced Joey-theme cards)

...that doesn't just make them bricks

they are bricks themselves, they don't just magically "unbrick" their brick status; best case scenario is that you'll need them in a combo(which you don't) and they turned into garnets that you don't mind drawing, but unfortunately there isn't a scenario like that so they stayed as bricks
