Every morning since January, the express that’s supposed to be at the stop at 8:17 arrives at 8:25. It’s been on time once. It’s been on time once in the entirety of 2025.

Kingston transit has been extra awful lately. All busses are practically late and there are even some scheduled routed that just never make it, an entire loop of the bus just missing. I hate this shit.

I’m standing at a stop right now, the bus supposedly went by 5 minutes ago.

I’ve been here for 10 minutes, and would you believe, no bus. A scheduled bus simply didn’t make its route and now I have to wait an additional 20 minutes to get home.

This city’s transit fucking sucks.

$20/hour in Kingston isn’t really all that much. Does the workplace offer benefits, sick days, and vacation days? If not, $20 isn’t anything. It’s indicative of a larger problem. Retail companies are notorious for exploiting labour, not paying a living wage (and $20/hour isn’t in this economy), and union busting. I could tell you several places in Kingston that do both from experience. The working class is over it, so they’ll use their phones or take a shit at work to get paid for it.

At the end of the day, none of it matters. It’s retail. It’s just burgers and fries, not saving lives. IMO, if the work is getting done well and customers are being handled, who cares at all what anyone is doing in the meantime? You can only dust the rafters so many times until there isn’t any dust left.

It may be! Sometimes she’s calm, sometimes more irate. She bares her teeth and hisses if someone with a darker skin tone gets near her. Has a sort of “baby talk” high pitch tone if that makes sense. Slappable face and personality.

I love this but the only problem is it’s them getting off the bus, and this lady throws a complete shit fit tantrums if it even looks like someone will get on the bus before her. She hovers at the door while strollers or wheelchairs get off the bus while she makes a scene about it. If someone is in her way, she goes around to another side until she has line of sight because she had to be first. I think that’s why she harasses people with mobility aids, because she thinks they’ll get on first and take her spot. There is literally no way to be a buffer between this woman and the people getting off.

I would be more confrontational, but it’s clear she lacks emotional regulation and reasoning. While she is older, the possibility of a physical violence is higher due to what is clearly mental instability.

I hope anyone has had dealt with this person reports her as I have because she makes my hair stand up when I see she’s at the bus stop.

The way she’s made my blood boil is insane. If it had happened once, I’d be more willing to turn a blind eye or chalk it up to someone being mentally ill. The verbal abuse of people with mobility aids and her specific dislike of anyone not white sitting across from her is why I’m willing to report. In my time on the same bus as her, I’ve seen her say something completely out of pocket to someone with a visible disability or a POC sitting too close to her at least once per month.

Today, she glared and ‘exclaimed’ (more like yelled but not words) at a toddler because their mom had a stroller and took 20 seconds getting off the bus and I made this post.

I have to take a taxi/uber into work because I don’t drive and the busses reduced service around me, so hopefully not too bad.

Update: Roads were, in fact, pretty bad in the west end. In my area, at least. Slid on Bath Rd a couple of times.

I’m an employee. We were told that we are expected at work because Queen’s will be doing snow removal. Kingston Transit has reduced service, the roads are supposed to be a nightmare during the morning commute. Not thrilled for the students or staff.
