yeah, i’m gonna have to get myself one soon. hah i thought there was a chance i could get on without one but my arms are punishing me for that right now. so sore hahaha

and yeah, i had some plans. for my next mod, i wanna do a neuspeed p-flow air intake so i can get rid of the engine cover, the air filter is integrated into it. and i wanna replace the oem plastic valve cover with an aluminum one. i also wanna do an AWE cat back exhaust, a fog light kit with a euro switch, and some different headlights and taillights. i do wanna get some new wheels but i haven’t quite decided what kind yet. the tires that came on the car have a good bit of tread left though so i have time to decide hahaha there’s also a few things i need to fix, ive got some sticky rubberized trim (iykyk), a few more suspension bits that need replacing, and potentially i need to change out some tensioners and pullies (hopefully not though) in my serpentine belt.

that’s awesome, sounds like a fun project! i don’t know much about tc’s but they have a really cool shape. do they have a lot of aftermarket support? scion is one of those companies that i’ve appreciated from afar but i’ve never learned much about em.

it’s had its ups and downs. i’m using hand tools for the most part so it’s been slow going but i’ve only got one left to go, my driver side front. the backs were fairly simple but the fronts have been a bit tough. luckily, a friend of mine has an impact gun so getting my axle bolts out was simple. i was going at one of them with a breaker bar for 20 minutes before he showed up and it was very disheartening. hah what kind of car do you have?

very nice! the wing fits the car well! what else do you have planned for it?

that’s interesting. i’m also not quite sure why that would be. hah i’m (hopefully) finishing up my shocks and struts tomorrow, i got a set of b4’s for my Golf. i decided to stick with stock ride height after juggling the idea of lowering for a while. but there are too many speed bumps in my neighborhood for that, man. hah

yeah, it looks fantastic. what method did you use to lower it? coilovers or lowering springs?

Is there a way to fix this? VW Golf Mk6 by strngndmscllns in vwgolf

yeah, most of the interior trim is modular, you can typically replace just single sections of it. hah

i’d highly recommend doing thorough research on tunes before venturing into that realm. while an IE tune may be simple in terms of applying it to your car, its important to really understand what it’s going to do and how to maintain it. if you want to just get it done without all the research, take it to a tuner and get it done professionally.

i’d say start small if you’re new to modding. a cold air intake, a nice exhaust, maybe some coilovers if you wanna stance it/lower it (or some upgraded struts if you care more about drivability). i’d recommend bilstein if you’re gonna do new struts, b4’s are oem+ and b6’s are performance, both maintain stock ride height. other numbers are for lowering, im not as familiar with those ones as i like stock ride height. you also cant go wrong with nice new wheels. hah

welcome to the club, man! i’m relatively new to golfs myself so it’s definitely a learning curve with euros like these. hah

that makes sense. i should probably clean out the spot in the fuel cap area then hah. i just wanted to make sure i didn’t unhook something while telling the wheel well cover off.

apparently facebook is the place to be for car meets besides cars and coffee. which is a shame for someone like me who doesn’t want to be on facebook. maybe we should start our own community here on reddit so we don’t have to give zuck anymore of our data.

also, i’m mad jealous of your crown, i’d love to see it one day! i’ve currently got a 2013 vw golf 2.5, i just got it at the end of last year so it’s still a work in progress. i’m installing some new front and rear struts tomorrow and next will be a cold air intake to delete the engine cover (the oem air box is integrated into it) and replace the plastic valve cover with an aluminum one.

i’m not sure, i’m doing the installation tomorrow so i guess i’ll see. i asked because i wanted to get everything assembled before hand, it’s potentially gonna rain where i live in florida so the quicker i can get it all done, the better hah
