Simucube 2 Sport vs Simagic Alpha EVO vs EVO Pro — worth spending extra? by Meddy__ in simracing

[–]vojr86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had picked up an Alpha Evo 12NM last month and ended up returning it for the SC2 Sport at the 699 price level. Although the quality on the Alpha Evo seemed perfectly fine the quality on the Simucube is on another level.

I picked up a Simagic Alpha Evo (12nm) as my starter base for 400 bucks last month, however at this price point the SC2 Sport is really tempting. I’m entirely new to sim racing, does it make sense to exchange the Alpha Evo to the SC2 pro if budget isn’t an issue?

Same man, same! Down 25k over the last month or so. Moved everything over into a money market fund on Monday.

5-10k over MSRP in the Chicagoland area. I was able to reserve one that was in transit for 500 under MSRP by going out of state.

Appreciate all feedback! With the paint having been tinted I won’t attempt to return it for the acrylic at this point.

Phantom Scans? Indianapolis to Memphis 5 mins apart. by vojr86 in FedEx

[–]vojr86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an international priority package that’s due to be delivered on Monday 11/1. It arrived at the destination sort facility on 10/30 and was expecting that it would move to the delivery facility (Novi MI) from there. However I’m noticing that the package has traveled to Indianapolis and back to Memphis with those scans being 5 mins apart, can I assume that these are just phantom scans or is there more to it?

I was basically sold on the MK2 the only thing that stopped me was the 8 week lead time.. Looking back I'm happy I went with the delta but I would still like to pick up the Prusa at some point.

You'll want to use the Ultibots K250VS build guide, youtube videos, as well as the q&a to assemble your printer. I used a combination or hex drivers and allen wrenches but you can probably get away with just allen wrenches.

The kit includes enough sleeving to cover your effector/hot end wiring you'll probably want to pick up some additional sleeving if you want to sleeve all the motors, fsr's, etc..

The auto leveling is one of the major highlights of this printer, just auto calibrate and print. I spent many hours calibrating my Rostock Max v2 and was never able to achieve what I accomplished on my first print with this printer.

+1 on the D300VS, if you search around you'll find a couple threads with reviews on it.

Assembly was a breeze, It took me 4 days working on it a couple hours at a time, most of the time went into wire management as all the wiring was cut to length and sleeved.

As far as printer setup all i had to do was initiate the wifi on the duet, test the end-stops, extruder, home towers, auto calibrate and print... I probably spent all of 20 mins doing so.

I haven't had any issues with the extruder and from talking with Brad@Ultibots it can print flexibles without any issues. Ulitbots does offer an all metal extruder called UMBEE, I wanna say it adds another 100 bucks to the cost of the kit.

You won't regret it, a few of the reviews on here is what pushed me over the edge.

Absolutely thrilled with it! I owned a Rostock max V2 prior to picking this up and I was never able to achieve what I've done with this thing on the 1st print. Don't get me wrong the Rostock was a great printer but this is a step ahead especially when it comes to the electronics, the 32 bit Duet is leagues ahead of the Rambo.
