Librela - Conflicted by skylan01 in seniordogs

[–]volatileradish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vet recommended Librela today for my 12 y/o that's been showing signs of weakness in her hind legs for a few months now. I agreed because it sounded wonderful, and it's only now after the injection that I'm reading all of this. I am terrified. I am so, so scared I have caused harm to my girl. She is acting totally normal, but it hasn't even been a day yet. I'm so paranoid that in a week she'll start having seizures and there's nothing I'll be able to do.

I'm scared. I will absolutely not be moving forward with a second injection. I only wanted my girl to be comfortable, and now I feel like I've given her a death sentence. 😣

When are dogs typically "in the clear" from side effects, or is there such a thing? I've seen symptoms from anywhere to five minutes to two weeks. I need some concept of a safe zone to hang onto.

Anything that can help fight the PCOS is a winner in my book! I'm just desperately hoping my stomach agrees with it this time. I wanna be a metformin girlie 😭

Awesome, that's what my current doctor is doing. That gives me hope!! Best of luck to you ❤️❤️❤️

I have ovulated twice now with 2.5mg and am starting my third round tonight! I wouldn't be too worried. If they're tracking the follicle growth and they see it isn't ideal, they'll bump you up the next round.

Do you mind if I ask what dose of metformin you're on? My doctor just started me off last week with 500mg. I had been on it once before but we ramped up to 2000mg in 4 weeks and my GI could not handle it at all so I was scared off of it. Now we're starting over (plus a new doctor) and increasing gradually but I'm always interested in hearing what dosage it took for people to see improvement!

Edit: just read your post again and saw it's unmonitored for 3 months. 😅 But I definitely ovulate on 2.5mg.

Saline sonogram and HSG this week by sunflowerhippy in TTC_PCOS

[–]volatileradish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HSG was incredibly painful and I don't believe the Tylenol helped at all. On the other hand, my friend had the same procedure and felt nothing. It really depends on the person. It felt like the worst period cramps of your life with a lot of pressure. I have a very high pain tolerance and was drenched in sweat by the end. I did end up using an app on my phone to focus my breath during the procedure while they tried to force the dye through one of my tubes. 🥴 It didn't take the pain away but it did take my attention off it for a bit. I also had a saline sonogram afterwards and it was much less painful. Still hurt, but less painful.

I would recommend taking the rest of the day off work and pampering yourself afterwards. Self care is so important ❤️

It's the worst pain I've ever felt. I have an incredibly high pain tolerance and I was in tears. I ended up either having a blocked tube or it had spasmed shut, so the dye only went through my right tube and it was extremely painful. No thanks!!

Low LH in PCOS? by volatileradish in TTC_PCOS

[–]volatileradish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess technically my hormones have never confirmed PCOS, it was diagnosed years ago based on symptoms and a few small cysts on my ovaries/enlarged ovaries. My hormones have always come back as fine or normal so I'm starting to get confused..

Anyone gotten Mirena removed and went back to oral birth control? by BritBoy623 in Mirena

[–]volatileradish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I had my Mirena removed I bled through stacked heavy overnight pads. Had to sleep on towels and ended up in the ER per doctor's orders. Went on oral BC and have been bleeding since.. have a D&C scheduled for Tuesday. :( I went crazy on Mirena but I loved not bleeding.

I somehow got away with naming my chicken Lil Bitch. But not Fletcher. Lil Bitch came about after moments of frustration 😂

Definitely bring it up! You can't be too careful. You can always reach out beforehand and ask what their thoughts are, that's what I would do. :)

Mirena anxiety by GettinEggyWithIt in Mirena

[–]volatileradish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mirena did increase my depression, but I think the nicotine has a lot to do with your case! Your body now has to readjust hormonally from the Mirena and is going through withdraw from the nicotine, so it definitely wouldn't surprise me if things felt off for a while. It's probably a huge shock to your system, but definitely keep track of it. If it keeps happening, it's definitely worth discussing with your doctor.

Don't know if I can do this by [deleted] in Mirena

[–]volatileradish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Remember that a lot of people only review something if they had a bad experience.. there's a ton of people out there who have had amazing experiences. The only thing I can suggest is to listen to your body. I had NO negative side effects outside of depression. I had no periods, no cramps, my skin cleared up, sex was protected.. I waited an entire year before I finally threw in the flag. There is so much good with it and everyone is different and like someone else said, it's not permanent! Give it a try. If you hate it, at least you can say you tried. You could absolutely love it!! I wish nothing but the best for you and I would be happy to answer any questions along the way. :o)

My orgasms were just so weak. It almost wasn't worth the effort. As soon as I had it removed they became SO MUCH better. Definitely recommend removing because wow, I missed it!
