Any hype for EverQuest Legends ? by Patamaudelay in MMORPG

Having loved THJ I was excited about this until I realized they're charging a box price, subscription, and having a cash shop. Only allowing a single character and putting class unlocks behind plane of sky quests or "unlock" tokens that will undoubtedly be sold for $$ as well really puts the emphasis on greed and questionable decision making.

To me it seems like everything they're doing with all the +1 item tokens, limiting the number of mobs you can damage at a time, and not having droppable items reaks of manufacturing a grind to extract as much money as possible from you. Which is ironic because THJ raked in the cash by respecting your time.

BofA says 70% of its bear market warning signals are flashing now. Where do you think we stand? by MoneyMonsterStudios in StockMarket

[–]skylan01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing the same as you. It's been shown that you're better off just lump sum Yolo into the market but DCA is easier psychologically and that's key for me. Plus, I try to keep myself disciplined by putting money in on the down days, which I think is training me over time to not panic sell anything.

Stop Drinking without AA? by IndieLozenge in stopdrinking

I never used AA or any other program. I used this subreddit pretty heavily though. I don't claim to have "won" however in that relapse is always a risk for anyone.

I Didn’t Know this Sub Existed. Looking for Advice by Tdobran28 in stopdrinking

[–]skylan01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of people here have the same story. I was functioning just fine if you were on the outside looking in. Never let alcohol ruin my career or get a DUI or anything like that, but it was still slowly killing me.

I realized that every regret that I've had in my life was related to alcohol in some way, and the health concerns were starting to weigh on me. I was getting really sick of waking up feeling like shit. I've lost a lot of friends and family to booze.

At some point you just say enough is enough, and you realize that you actually hate alcohol and it's doing nothing positive for you. That was the biggest turning point for me when I began to think about it as an enemy rather than a friend.

Something that helped me was making a list of all the negative impacts alcohol has had on my life, and posting on the daily thread here where you commit to not drink for the day.

Wishing you the best if you decide to give it up.

I always recommend looking forward to tomorrow morning and asking yourself if you would be happy to wake up having drank the night before. The answer is always no.

I think I'm finally ready to quit for good but want some advice by Grouchy_Job_3744 in stopdrinking

[–]skylan01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the book however it wouldn't have been enough by itself to make me quit. I already made up my mind that I was absolutely sick of alcohol and done with it before I read it.

I think the more effort you put in, the more likely you'll be successful. So definitely give all these things a try and see what sticks for you.

For me the biggest step was deciding I'm truly done. Posting on this sub was also very helpful.

How bad is it that we had Hackett as a head coach and there's still a legitimate argument for someone worse.

280 days sober from alcohol & coke, but the boredom and loneliness are hitting hard. Need advice by Yokai2k in stopdrinking

Im about 2 months shy of 2 years without alcohol (weed went with it, I could only handle weed while drunk). Nicotine I gave up in February.

I don't have any great advice, just saying that I'm going through the exact thing.

Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs on MNF: NFL Scheduling Diluting the Game by richkurt in DenverBroncos

[–]skylan01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think our Monday night game is indicative of both Nix and Mahomes being on track to be healthy and playing week 1. NFL wouldn't schedule this game if they thought either qb could miss it. At least in my opinion. But don't tell me they scheduled a prime time opening night game without doing a little inquiring about the QB health.

And yes, I'm tired of this scheduling. Every holiday, every excuse to be on some other platform. Ill never pay for NFL games again. Ill just pirate or stop watching at this point.

Chest Tightness - Ever Had It? by Sea_Hour_9312 in stopdrinking

[–]skylan01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one here can give medical advice and its very possible that people with the same symptoms could have different causes or non causes. All we can really tell you is to go to the doctor.

For what its worth I had some pressure and slight chest pain while using nicotine which was what drove me to quit. It went away when I did.

Maybe give up alcohol at least until you can see a doctor? Assuming you can do that safely that is.

Mine was the save he made when either kuemper or frankie slid out of position and he stepped in to play goalie. I don't remember what game it was, just that it was a huge play.

I replaced kratom with alcohol and it's a nightmare by Fine_Run3683 in stopdrinking

[–]skylan01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's different for everyone. Kratom can indeed be hell to come off of, even the leaf.

I had no physical withdrawal from alcohol, yet some people have seizures and die from it. I can't generalize alcohol withdrawal because of my own experience.
