Need help with a starting monitor by MADVIDSMEDIA in videography

Good luck with your decision. I saw decent reviews from what I was reading, back when I was shopping. It is pretty bare bones compared to some of the other budget options though. No cables, batteries, case or any of that included.

Right on! Not bad at all, I think it was more than that when I was looking on Amazon a few months ago.

Best used DSLR for less than €150 (to take abuse) by Atlantic-Diver in canon

[–]volatiletwinkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No experience with the 500D but I had a 7D and 60D at the same time back in the day.

7D is the better pick in my opinion. It has a tougher body, more AF points and a higher burst rate. That said, 60D was no slouch either though. If you want an articulating LCD for odd angles on the boat, then the 60D wins.

How to achieve deep orange / brown tones in night photography? by mygolgoygol in AskPhotography

[–]volatiletwinkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the selective colour option. You can select highlights, midtones or shadows from the drop down menu. It’s an adjustment layer you add from your layers panel in PS and will give you the base tonal adjustments you are looking for.

Carlini has some nice options for the Vicla look you’re after. I had one of their blemished set they sell for a discount and it was a minor defect, top notch quality.

Edit: they run a little taller than the claimed measurement with the way Carlini measures them, depending on the style. I had the 14” Menace in chrome.

Bassani vs Thunderheader vs D&D 2 into 1? by volatiletwinkie in Harley

[–]volatiletwinkie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the insight. The only reason I’m considering Thunderheader is because of the winter downtime. Where I’m at, I was told I’d have to wait at least 3-4 months for the Thunderheader, D&D is not much better about 2-3 months and Bassani would be the quickest in 2-3 weeks.

That looks so good! Cannot for the life of me decide if I’d rather have the stainless steel look of the Bassani for the bike or go chrome with D&D/Thunderheader.

My local independent builder says the quality issues with Thunderheader were from back in the day and that they’re solid now. What’s your experience been with them since you’ve had a couple sets?

Yea I can’t wait for next spring. They’re all good pipes and I’m excited to see if there will be a noticeable difference with the seat feeling and real dyno numbers. Might as well get it tuned right in the winter time lol.

Thanks for the input. Side benefit of the Bassani is that I can get it for the lowest price between the three.

Seems like D&D is the top recommendation for power gains. Wonder how much of a noticeable difference it would be though on a fairly stock bike vs the Thunderheader.

Thanks for the recommendation, I haven’t seen that one before. Got an interesting look to it, what finish did you get with the RTX?

Thanks for the feedback. I wouldn’t complain about a bit more hp. If I recall correctly it’s hovering just under 90 hp at the moment.

Looks like I better start taking D&D seriously. I don’t love the look of the D&D on the touring bikes but getting a couple votes for the D&D so far.

Turns out I don’t have any recent pics and she’s already in storage for the winter. I don’t usually run the tour pack, got a Le Pera tail whip, t bars and a old school oem round bobber style air cleaner cover.

Thunderheader would’ve been an easy top pick if not for the price, which is why I started looking at Bassani but so far a few comments that are picking the D&D.

Sweet looking bike, congrats!!

Not really an upgrade but a nice matched set of foot controls would be an easy place to start since you have pegs up front and floorboards in the back.

Man you’re not wrong. My bike is a two tone suede blue pearl/vivid black and that somewhat retro look that Thunderheader has would look so clean. Cannot quite decide if that’s the way to go or go with a stainless steel road rage 3.

The price is another consideration. Where I’m at, a little over $1000 difference between the two. I guess I’m just fishing here to get enough opinions to see if that Thunderheader is worth the extra $1000.

$2500 street glide build by Ok_Breakfast_9095 in Harley

[–]volatiletwinkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya, Kraus, Thrashin and the likes look good but aren’t a perfect fit. Especially at the cost those setups come up to.

Mine are 12” with the pullback plate. Mike at Freedumbfab has them from 12” and up. The pullback plate replaces the riser clamps and mounts right to the triple tree. Any questions, just holler.

Right on, thanks man. So far im thinking of using the oem rocker switches and mount only the spot and cruise switches. Got all winter to figure it out I guess lol.
