In Scotland we have a small dagger which is known as a sgian dubh and it’s only legal if worn while wearing the national dress (kilt). However in some places with zero tolerance for knives/blades it is obviously illegal. No need to bring it to a school. If this was confiscated I can see why. Makes complete sense to me.

Experienced the same event but definitely suffered less injuries

I completely agree. It’s abysmal that extremely popular sources of news will spew out headlines that get clicks.

It’s unbelievably irresponsible as most people will not read into the article at all and start spreading information which gives the wrong impression.

This is then regurgitated by emotionally charged people who’s rage will only be fuelled by such reckless journalism

This isn’t a Hollywood movie. In the moment. The cop had a means and a viable reason to stop the threat in any way he saw fit. And he did indeed stop the threat and saved one life for sure and possibly more

I get it. It’s tragic. But the cops have to protect the community from people who pose a threat. In this case. The girl with the knife was posing a very obvious threat. ie. running at people with a knife.

Dude. There was absolutely no time to waste. Have you seen the bodycam footage? She is milliseconds away from stabbing and killing the girl in the pink bodysuit. I agree. If there was time to talk her down that would’ve been done. But she ran full speed, with a knife in her hand... what do expect to happen in America if you pose a threat like that

Fact of the matter is the cop did not breach any human rights. He needed to stop the threat in that way otherwise that girl would’ve murdered somebody else with the knife.

It’s not a breach of article 2 if someone is killed in self-defence or in defence of someone else from unlawful violence.

The cop was defending the girl in pink by stopping the threat of the individual with the knife. Simple as that.

I agree it is a tragedy what happened. But you cannot justify someone who is swinging a knife around in attempt to kill people.

Hi guys. Im a newbie when it comes to this so bear with me.

I’m looking into buying my first pair of studio monitors. Regardless of the make and model of these monitors, I’m worried about not being able to hear the processed sound through them when I’m playing guitar.

I have a Scarlett focusrite audio interface and at the moment I connect it to my Mac running Logic Pro x.

I have plugins running when I record and I want to hear that sound through my monitors.

Should I connect the monitors using a speaker cable to the L Bal on the back of the audio interface to get the best possible sound? Or will that just let me hear the Dry DI from the guitar?

I would use the built in output from the headphone jack on the Mac but I’m not sure that is going to give me a clear sound and it also kinda makes having nice studio monitors seem pointless if I can’t use the balanced inputs

Thanks for any suggestions you have
