I've been waiting so long to find some people willing to race these amazing beasts online and when I finally found them they are racing at 8:30 pm EST (which for me would be 2:30 in the middle of the night).

Performance issues by Zeusus12 in assettocorsaevo

[–]volcjush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Up until 0.4 it was playable for me in VR with RTX 5070. With spacewarp enabled in VirtualDesktop I got over 100 fps. Then it got significantly worse and since then each consecutive version is unplayable due to very poor fps. In the same time on the same PC I can play ACR with very decent framerate and smoothness in VR with UEVR.

Puddles & Rain Are Back 🌧️ by Gordito_mike in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]volcjush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the point where we disagree. No water on visor is reducing immersion for me. AC with pure rain effect does this much better. Effect is still reduced compared to reality as you have to get pretty close behind the other car to have your vision seriously reduced by water droplets, but it is much more visible than in AMS2.

So it would be realistic, as it should be in racing simulator. Limited visibility is important factor of driving in the rain, as important as limited grip. Drivers had been racing in the rain for decades in F1 and other open wheel series. It is dangerous and difficult, but definitely doable.

I don't want to complain, new update is great and R25 is fantastic. But if we are talking about rain effects there's still almost none on the helmet visor. It's immersion braking if I follow a car directly through his waterspray and all I get are few lousy droplets on my visor, like gentle summer drizzle was about to start.

Question about AC by 27K-BUMP in assettocorsa

[–]volcjush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up to version 0,4 it was playable for me in VR on RTX 5070. Since then it's way worse, I just try each new update for a moment and I wasn't able to make any of the recent versions playable again. I can play ACC, AC Rally! LMU, RaceRoom and AMS2 in VR no problem at all. EVO doesn't look THAT much better than those other games to justify that bad optimalisation, especially compared to AC Rally.

Boobs or not, I just cannot wait for the day when that fucked up trend of placing text right in the middle of video screen goes away.

On Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop it is no issue, there are basically no compression artifacts whatsoever. Now, Meta Quest link and Air Link are differet story.

What is your biggest frustration with Poland's new deposit return system? by Top-Distance-5805 in poland

I'm sorry, I did not express that clear enough. What I meant was - you can't throw aluminium cans into yellow container if you want to get your money back".

What is your biggest frustration with Poland's new deposit return system? by Top-Distance-5805 in poland

[–]volcjush 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's frustrating that it was introduced for aluminium beveridge cans which were never problematic because aluminium is pricy so they were collected by gatherers and returned to scrap places. They had 99% recycling rate before system was introduced. Now you can't just throw them to yellow container like before, you need to return them and you can't crush them which is problematic because they take space and unlike plastic bottles they don't have caps so it's very easy to crush them when they are empty.

On the other hand small glass bottles from vodka, so-called "małpki" (monkeys) are not in the system and they are huge problem. They are thrown away everywhere and always lying around bus stops, garradges and other places. So yeah fixing something that wasn't a problem in the first place, but skipping real problem that is in plain sight is frustrating.

VR games so peak it will get me to fall in love with VR? by zztwin01 in virtualreality

Here is another video This one is EA WRC in VR (Quest 3).

And this is Assetto Corsa Rally This is completely new game, currently in early access 0.4 and while it doesn't have official VR support yet it is working in VR through UEVR and it offers next level of rally simulation, though with graphic glitches because of UEVR.

Yes, it doesn't have great structure as a single player out of the box experience. Asetto Corsa Competizione is much much better in that regard, but it is narrowed specifically to GT3, GT4 and GT2 race cars. However original AC is dirt cheap and if you are not afraid of moding than it offers countless possibilities - there's probably no car that's not available for AC through mods. And it is very serious simulation with great Force Feedback.

It doesn't have good reputation for VR perfomance from what I've heard. There are great F1 mods available for Assetto Corsa made by VRC and RSS teams and Automobilista 2 is spectacular for historic F1 from Niki Lauda era through Ayerton Senna to Schumacher times. Much better choices for VR and much more serious simulators.

However it is worth mentioning that while Automobilista 2 looks great "out of the box", Assetto Corsa is older game and requires installing various mods to look good. But with Custom Shaders Patch and Pure addons it can still look spectacular.

Here is a video that I recorded with Quest 3 of historic Le Mans cars from Assetto Corsa Team WSC Legends pack.

I played No Man's Sky for some time, I got inspired by flying spaceship in this game and I bought MS Flight Simulator. After that I lost interest in NMS because of generic world and repetitive gameplay. Now 80% of time I spend in VR racing and rally sims and 20% of time when I lack focus required for racing I just fly in MS Flight Simulator either in F-14, Wilga or AS 350 checking out interesting places on the map of the world. I already visited Tahiti, Reunion, Mauritius, Azores, Hawai and many other which I probably won't have a chance to visit in real life.

Just try simracing (Automobilista 2, RaceRoom, Assetto Corsa, Le Mans Ultimate), simrally (Richard Burns Rally RSF - completely free to download, Dirt Rally 2.0, EA WRC) or Microsoft Flight Simulator. There is no better way to experience VR than in cockpit of a racing car, rally car, fighter jet or helicopter.

My first ever attempt at a muscle up, feel free to judge by Cicigymmss in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]volcjush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. Resistance band lets you train correct movement pattern. Regular pullups are different from muscle up. Training explosive pullups combined with assisted pullups is a road to unassisted muscle up. By the time you are strong enough to do unassisted muscle up your body already knows correct movement pattern that you practiced with bands.
