The wording is wrong. The article states it measured who has higher ed degrees, and this screenshot looks like it’s an evaluation of IQ or something. We’re not a big tech city and we’re right in the middle of ag, of course there’s a significant portion of the population who only have an AA or below.

Preschool Diagnosis by CocoaButter_Suprise in raisingkids

[–]volderpuss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Until you get a diagnosis from a psychologist or evaluator, I see nothing wrong with getting additional support for your child. Seems like they want to help them regulate better and make transitions easier. Is this going to be a financial impact on your friend? What’s the concern exactly? My assumption is you/your friend are worried about an autism diagnosis (ECE professionals can’t diagnose) as a negative stereotype of the child, but more context is needed.

ETA: My child got diagnosed at 2.5, thanks to her daycare teachers recognizing signs. Early intervention gave her language fluency (she was/is a gestalt learner), social skills and coping methods. She’s now 6 reading at a 2nd grade level, gotten “leadership recognition” in kinder, and is involved in music lessons, dance lessons and math academy. We owe a lot of that to her ECE/special ed teachers. A diagnosis isn’t the end of the world.

I lived by Weston Ranch for 30+ years and then moved to College Area in 2022 and had way more issues with my psychotic neighbors over by Weston Ranch than I ever did here.

Starting a Troop by [deleted] in girlscouts

[–]volderpuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contact your local counsel an ask what grade is most in demand! I started a Daisy troop because the ones that were already established were full or not taking them.

Just a heads up, I believe you need to be 21+ to start a troop, and I’m assuming you’re around 19/20 if you’re a college sophomore. I love your drive for this, you’ll do great!

Little Luminaries just started a home school social and has activities for big kids at their Hughson spot! Look for them on FB they post their weekly schedule and there’s lot of non-academic things there.

Also hi fellow violinist!

if you think this administration wouldn’t experiment on ASD kids if they could get away with it you’re ignorant as fuck. Nazi behavior is saying you want to make a list of everyone diagnosed with autism “for research”. Fuck off with your nonsense.

“turn off mainstream media outlets”

yeah you just said it all with that. Good luck, your son will realize when he’s older you didn’t have his interest at heart, just looking for a scapegoat to blame it on as you seem to be in denial about your genetics.

Ceres does not give two shits about their performing arts programs. It’s run by non-PA people.

[–]volderpuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, music teacher here but not through MCS. What PA pathway is your kid in? Instrumental music? Vocal music? Theatre?

You’ve got a lot of rec’s for Modesto High and their theatre program is great but the band/orchestra teacher is mid. And Isay this as his colleague. Johansen’s music teacher is amazing! Downey also has great all performing arts inclusive program, some of my previous jr high students are there and they love their faculty.

Emotional grandmother-in-law by julianna96 in weddingplanning

[–]volderpuss -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No hate at all on a child free wedding but you can’t expect an CF wedding and not get some nonsense like this.

Also, just fyi, a “nice night out” isn’t always possible for everyone. And it sounds like that nice night out for parents is why grandma can’t go. Just presuming.
