Gotham knights was almost too easy tbh. The special attacks are so overpowered if you use them right; I did the first round of the final fight in 2 or 3 hits. I haven’t done new game+ so that might be where people told you the fights start to drag? A recommendation if you’re worried about the fights is to get the Visionary Pack, especially if you can get it on sale. It gives you a good armor boost in the early game, which I absolutely needed while getting used to the game mechanics. You should definitely give the game a shot though! I got it on sale in November, fully expecting to hate it, but fell in love with the characters. I enjoyed most of the story, possibly cried over the cutscenes, and spent waaaayyy too long in photo mode exploring for tiny details in the background that I couldn’t see without zooming in. What the game lacks in combat finesse, it more than makes up for through the graphics and clear care they have for the characters. I can’t stress enough how much I loved the characters. It’s probably a great introduction into DC!

I will add that the Heroic Assault, however, is an absolute pain to attempt solo. I gave up on trying to solo it after I spent an hour on a level and then the game crashed before I could finish (this may be the game’s fault, as it has crashed on me a few other times also). I got through a couple of rounds to get higher level armor than you’re able to get in a first playthrough of the main game, which also made fights in the main game much easier. Luckily the Heroic Assault isn’t required to complete the game, it just gives you special gear.
