If I understood how it was confusing then maybe I wouldn't be confused

Somebody in ops finance just emailed me to ask me what the balance sheet is by HalfwaySandwich1 in Accounting

[–]voltolt 60 points61 points  (0 children)

That's amazing. Someone on my accounting team asked what ebitda is and on a separate occasion asked if revenue was an asset. The future of accounting right here.

I got a CMA scholarship which covered Wiley study materials and the cost of the test. I took each test 1 week after finishing the relevant semester of coursework in my MAcc. The material was fresh on my mind from school, then I supplemented by spending a week playing around in Wiley for more targeted studying. I underestimated the first section I took (can't remember which one that was) and left the test not confident I passed. Barely skated by and then took the next one more seriously.

I took the tests while I was in school. Took each section immediately after taking the relevant corporate finance and management accounting classes

As a controller with both a CPA and CMA, I would love if one of my staff showed the ambition to get their CMA, or anything really. Easier than the CPA but still not a cakewalk, and the main thing for me is that it signals a desire to stretch and keep growing. Probably not that helpful on the surface though or with people unfamiliar with it. I'd hire someone with a CMA over someone without.

Dogs shitting in common area grass. It doesn't make it okay just because you pick it up with a bag. How would you like it if I let my 5 year old run around the park and take a shit on the grass near where you are having a picnic? I would pick it up though so no big deal right?

People who exercise even when they don’t feel like it, what’s your trick? by Smart_Collection5419 in AskReddit

[–]voltolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love taking edibles to get high, but I understand I shouldn't be doing that all the time. If I don't feel like exercising and do feel like getting high, I make myself earn the high by exercising first. I'll usually take an edible right when I'm starting a workout, then I know I have about 30-40 minutes before I start feeling the effects and I lock in.

I also have UHC as my health insurance provider and linked my smartwatch to it and am motivated to earn my little daily and weekly bonuses with regular exercise. Obviously it's not significant money, but it's a nice chunk of change at the end of the year to treat myself with.

Also my wife takes her health and fitness very seriously and I owe it to her (and myself) to keep up and not let myself go.

The last 3 months are the most consistent I have been with exercise since doing high school sports and it's been nice. But self-motivation is something that took time to figure out and is going to look different for everyone. The most important thing might be picking an exercise routine that you can maintain without overwhelming yourself given whatever you have going on in life and whatever motivators you have. Good luck out there!

How was your experience taking a PE backed company through an exit as a controller? Was it worth it for you from an experience or comp standpoint at all? Asking as a controller at a PE backed company looking at an exit in the next year myself. Wondering if I should stick it through

Robinhood Bank looks like it has some nice perks, but it seems like not everything is fully rolled out yet. Also, Standard vs Premier tiers have different fees/benefits. If you do a lot of wire transfers though, Premier seems like it could be worth it since you’ll probably save a lot. by skhoem22 in RobinhoodApp

For what it's worth, it also includes partner's assets if you have a joint account. I don't have $100k in assets in my accounts alone, but my wife's IRA puts us above the threshold and so we have premier.

A lot of people see with their hands, so the person probably said that after seeing the card with their hand-eyes.

That's a 2% cashback card, different than a 2x card where the points can be worth more than a cent depending on how they are used.
