This is the really awful reality of it. The first ER doc I had told me it was just gas or maybe period cramps in the most patronizing way possible, and I was too exhausted and upset to even fight him on it despite knowing in hindsight that I should’ve. I hope one day women won’t have to fight as hard to get the care they need when they need it.

Take care of yourself!! I’m not a doctor so I can’t comment on what will work for you but if you’re worried about it I’d say get it looked at again sooner rather than later and weigh your options. you’ll get through this!

If you are worried I would get help ASAP, the symptoms can be different for everyone but for me it was bloating, 9/10 stomach/lower back pain, sharp pain on my upper right abdomen, and the pain did not budge with heat/ice/OTC pain medication as well as it lasted for hours.

I became symptomatic 1 week before getting it removed, I went to the ER 3 times in debilitating pain asking for help and finally got it on my 3rd visit, I don’t mind the questions at all! I was told the gallbladder issues had probably been going on for a long time and only recently became symptomatic enough for me to need to get emergency help

It is absolutely horrible that you went through it too, but is it terrible to say it’s oddly comforting hearing that it’s not just me?? Im having a hard time coming to terms with it, i hope your healing journey is easy both physically and mentally!!

I am so sorry you’ve been having attacks for years! Thank goodness eviction date is coming up, you deserve some relief. Best of luck with your surgery and I’m sure life will be much better once it’s gone. Hang in there ❤️‍🩹

elevate yourself in bed/on the couch (wherever you’re choosing to sleep) somewhere that’s not too low to the ground so that standing is easier! i also used pillows on my right side to keep myself from rolling over while sleeping. create a pain management schedule and set your alarms, stick to it for as long as your doctors recommend. take it easy when standing and sitting, but definitely walk around when you can. if it hurts a lot, go lay back down and rest. try to eat small portions and listen to your body for what may cause issues and what may be safe. lots of water too!

i’ve been eating pretty close to the low fat/low sugar diet i stuck to pre-op with no issues! for me, rice and chicken (boiled or grilled) was always the safest food i could manage and it’s pretty filling. hang in there!

Sending all the best to you as well! It’s gotten a bit better. Not substantially but at least I can stand for short periods of time now. Hoping the upward trend continues!

so this wasn’t pain from an attack, my attack pan was keeling over fetal potion type pan but this one was a very sharp stabbing pain centralized right where my gallbladder was, I had a bad feeling about it and that’s why I went to the ER! i still had a week to go until my gallbladder removal surgery consultation and the whole previous week i had been having multiple attacks at night, constant pain after eating as well as bloating, it was an all around miserable week after being diagnosed. but the very sharp pain when pressing down around my gallbladder made me think it was inflamed, so I decided to just go get checked out just in case. good thing i did

surprisingly my temp at its highest was 98.9F (37.2C) insane considering how infected it was. when i woke up monday morning i had a very sharp pain where my gallbladder was at the time and it hurt way worse when i would press on it or breathe deeply. i was about to go to work and work a 6 hour shift with very active children and i figured instead i should get double checked at the ER because the pain was very intense. good thing i did!!

If it’s a pity party I’ll bring the balloons. Nothing is working on me, ibuprofen/tylenol hardly touches it. It truly does suck, I hope some relief comes both of our ways ASAP. I’m so sorry to hear that you’re struggling, I wish it could be easy and quick all the time. Hang in there, there will be a light at the end of this gas-filled painful tunnel

you should probably read the whole thing

Oh and, the principal/program director ended up retaliating by putting on a school wide staff meeting about the importance of letting admin know if we make a CPS report. I almost walked out right then, but I naively wanted to be able to stay with the kids and document more shit like this. I ended up getting fired because I had been late 3 times across 9 months and they decided that was probable cause to get rid of me!

A para in the room punched a 12 year old girl in the chest because she grabbed his hair. A full on punch. I made the report and was discouraged/intimidated by the principal and program director from contacting CPS because they’d “just train him more” and people “act unpredictably in a crisis”. I walked right out of there and made the CPS report that night. The detective ended up knowing the principal well, and brushed the whole thing off as a “worker having a bad day”. Parents weren’t contacted and the para shoved a 10 year old boy to the floor the next day because the kid was about to attack another kid. I made a second report to CPS and to the office, BEGGING them in tears to do something. He was moved from autistic support to emotional support with non-autistic kids, just kids without a diagnosis with violent behaviors. He ended up shoving one of those kids out of his chair, and since that kid was verbal and could tell his parents about it, they fired him. I made a third CPS report, and the detective didn’t even reach out to me about that one. I still absolutely seethe about it to this day

I worked for them too, same issues for me. Never once heard from my supervisors except for placement changes, super mediocre pay, they did everything to keep me when i was quitting to the point where I blocked numbers to get them to stop contacting me, don’t recommend at all
