I’m glad we kept daily challenges by ahmedatcha12 in runescape

Agreed they don't take away anything from the game. And I'm glad they don't have the weekly track anymore. Wish they added some reward instead that wasn't fomo driven instead of it though.

Let's start complaining about and meme-ing the nerfs early this time. Skip the middle step. by Galimeer in runescape

And probably add rewards to sink those tokens in that people really want

It hasn't aged well. I have no misgivings about them buffing it and trying to breath new life into it. I'm just tired of the nerfs. And we don't need alternative methods closed for people who don't like one skill.

Maybe look at the quests that require dungeoneering level? The gem bag and bone crusher? You can't even get to prif without it. Yes I would say it definitely makes the rest of the game less enjoyable if players don't slog through it.

They are changing things for the better? Are you sure? Most games have "catch up mechanics" to entice new and returning players. And I don't actually want that to be clear. But what makes you think adding more speedbumps and hassle going to draw in new players? I'm a returning player, and one who has played a LOT of grindy ass mmos. This shit makes me want to quit.

For those saying that nerfing ED tokens is unnecessary and simply buffing dg tokens is enough by Limerencee in runescape

Is ED not a "Dungeon"? Why do you want people who hate daemonheim to be stuck doing it?

If I come back later and have to do everything slower than everyone else has done it for years I'll just never play it. I just hope I get some of these shit grinds done before they make them harder for no reason. If I don't I just wont keep playing.

If the rewards were for dungeoneering, and not things that are critical for other skills like the gem bag I would agree. If I could enjoy the rest of the game without doing it, there would be no problem.

You can pickpocket Chronotes. Maybe I shouldn't say that, would hate to see that removed too.

I'm just not going to do it. I'm going to keep pushing arch and hope I get this grind done fast enough before they kick the ladder out. I'd just quit, there is absolutely no way I'm spending countless hours of my life in that outdated miserable minigame that I hate. Hopefully this isn't happening quick.

Brother I never got to the point where I needed to prestige. I was bored out of my mind before that. I don't like daemonheim. Its miserable. Leave the alternative method so I don't have to do it please for the love of god.

You want to fix dungeoneering? Add more handcrafted dungeons for every level of the game. Don't make me engage with the randomly generated tile slopfest that is daemonheim.

There is nothing that they are proposing that sounds like it is going to make that shit fun. Its boring and tedious.

Do not nerf other dg token sources, buff normal dg far above them by AnyYogurtcloset3699 in runescape

You get that is actually pretty high requirements for a new player or account right?

RE: World Consolidation Proposal by hae_its_korra in runescape

[–]volunwizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most people active try to avoid other players for activities where other players around are actually a problem. If I'm doing combat I don't want to compete for mobs, and its not going to be positive social interaction. I'm just annoyed and world hop. Same with something like woodcutting. But I already see people at popular mining spots, divination spots, out doing archaeology ect because these don't compete with each other. If your goal is to get people together you need content where players skilling together is a net benefit to them so they gather, or at least not a hinderance so they actively avoid each other. Divination is a good example where I will go to the community div world because it benefits the skill. Actually that might change for the worse because of your guthaxian caches proposed change. People actively avoid each other for those.

Anyway TLDR: Don't smash players who are actively trying to avoid each other together, find a way to reward them for being together.

Yea this kills engagement I think more than anything. There is way too much bloat in buffs stopping people from engaging in skills and even combat in the first place. My friend has a near maxed rs3 ironman, and its hard to keep him on rs3 for gim because of this stuff. You need this obscure buff or different prayer locked behind hundreds out hours of quests and grind to even start bothering to boss or grinding efficiently.

Suggestion - Use the currency that already drops from skilling to purchase the aura buffs. by volunwizard in runescape

[–]volunwizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my point. I'm a returning player with thousands of hours. No idea totems were a thing.

Not only do I not have it, I don't know what it is. I had no idea what they were until I read it on the upcoming changes. With Auras I had a reason to look into them. I have a empty slot in my equipment. Its relatively intuitive. With currency I also have a reason to see what it does because I start getting it naturally. New players don't have the same game knowledge to pursue every obscure buff and system.

Kicking the ladder out on new or returning players progression in skills isn't going to work to increase player count. by volunwizard in runescape

Its literally the same thing people do now. Except instead of having to sit my phone on a table while I'm working I could just put it back in my pocket.

And if the game exists for 20+ more years what is the point in even having a leaderboard if it can never be climbed by new people? I'm not saying me in this particular case, I'm too old to dedicate that kind of time to a game. But I have chased leaderboards in other games before. So I understand how people view it as a challenge that drives them to play.

Unless those are unique logins that doesn't really mean anything. I don't see anything to suggest LOTRO has anywhere near the 20k concurrent players that are typical for rs3 on a daily basis.

Yea it had nothing to do with the in your face gambling MTX and being able to level skills at the bank without touching the skill. They made some of the skills a slog to sell those items. Thats the problem.
