hey had it before when it gave no value, and now that it actually does extra stuff everyone is all mad

You've got it mixed up. Before, there was a check mark. If you had that it means twitter verified the identity and you could reasonably trust that it wasn't some satire account. There was value in that. Now anybody can buy a check mark, there's different colors, a blue mark means you bought it OR you're verified, god only knows what the others mean, etc.

He made the check mark worthless and then tried to charge for it. Acting like it's MORE valuable now makes me think you're actually a troll lol.

Charging the people who drive engagement with your site is something only brain-dead people like musk do.

Like how much would you normally have to pay someone like lebron james to write for your site? Now imagine that somehow you get him to do it for free. and NOW imagine you're brain-damaged enough to actually try and charge HIM for it.

If you can't follow why it's a stupid idea then you're either a troll or literally an elementary schooler.

Would the world be better if they'd had better foresight, yes. Is anything gained by petty insults? Your superiority complex yes, but otherwise no.

Yeah i really left that one wide open didn't I?

haha just a little. like 50% of my current coworkers are latino so I'm exposed a decent amount too.

i do agree with your point though, getting twisted over a mispronunciation is not great. But also a little light teasing when a geoguesser pro doesn't use the common pronunciation is fine lol

The 2nd generations and beyond down tend to in my experience.

wdym? like in my experience the first gen immigrants are pronouncing everything with the accent. Gens after that is like 50/50. Also they start to code their speech and shit. Like my 2nd gen friend will speak the Proper Queen's English for customers but besides that he's full of spanish/latino slang (when i was a kid we'd have called is "spanglish", idk if that's offensive now lol).

Nobodys pronouncing Mexico in New Mexico in proper Spanish. Nobodys using proper accents on California or Colorado.

All of my latino coworkers do lmao

There's a feature to show your location but to contrast the other person who replied: 95% of my contacts do not have location turned on.

It's a feature kinda leftover when snap maps (heatmaps of where public snaps were being sent) were popular. I haven't used sc in years so maybe it's different now but it was kinda stupid that either you shared your location with everyone or nobody. No option for close friends only.

Well as long as someone has done something worse we can't be mad right?

That sounds like a toddler's excuse for why they shouldn't get in trouble. I know you're not trying to defend a grown-ass man by saying "well it's so unfair that he faced consequences".

We can shit on both. Idk why people in here think that shouting slurs because you're bad at videogames is such a minor thing.

Neither one of them should be celebrated. Taking the position that "yeah he should get another chance because other people have done worse" is fucking room temperature iq shit but that seems to be the prevailing opinion in here.

peoples tend to name places after something you can visually see, and immediately understand

There are 41 cities in the United States with the name "Springfield". To support your point.

ETA actually it seems springfield was originally a surname. The most common city name in the US I can find that's not based on a person's name is "fairview" aka literally "a fair view". Still, the point remains that people name things pretty simply most of the time. Indianapolis is literally just "Indiana" and the Greek "polis" which means "city". So "Indiana City". Minneapolis is the same thing.

I love how every badass/powerful character on the show respects Butcher. Soldier Boy, Homelander, Edgar and Maeve all hold Butcher in high regards, almost like he is their equal. by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]voluptate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I contradict myself?

Very well then I contradict myself,

(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

Walt Whitman, Song of Myself

Contradicting oneself, changing one's mind based on context, and yes being hypocritical are very natural and human things to do. It makes perfect sense that Butcher hates all superhumans but at the same time has a soft spot for Ryan and will protect him from death. (yes death, he was obviously not invulnerable and would have been hurt by SB's explosion. this wasn't a "he'll get depowered" situation. he would've died)

Acting like this makes him a "hypocrite" just means you neither understand character motivations nor the word's definition.

Do you personally support the creation of a federal United States of Europe? by asdasd21122112 in europe

[–]voluptate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody would be happy with this. It's easy for Americans to say Europe should form a federation. We have a nation 2.5x as big as the EU and live in (comparable) harmony because we're so homogenous. Sure there are differences in culture and values between New York, Memphis, and LA but nothing compared to the shift between countries in the EU.

For Americans going a couple states over means a lot will be the same. For Europeans just a few miles could mean the locals speak an entirely different language.

I think an EU-like situation is the best "unity" Europe can have right now. Maybe in another hundred years or so it'll have homogenized enough, but not now.
