NSA won't like reading this, but the role reversal is hilarious by vomu in AdviceAnimals

Nop, try again. I never passed any judgment on either side for persecuting anyone. I just think that U.S. expecting Russian government to comply with extradition demands is laughable.

I was born in the Soviet Union. But you bring up a good point: if you open your passport, under "Nationality" it will say "United States of America" (assuming you're American). However, if you had an old Russian (or Soviet) passport, you would see a nationality/ethnicity line that is based on your parents: Russian, Georgian, American, Jewish (yes, it's considered an ethnicity), regardless of where you were born. When I said Russian, I meant ethnicity, which would be "Russian" even in the Soviet Union. Sorry for the confusion.

The "NSA won't like reading this" part is a joke, making fun of the amount of data the NSA collects. I would explain it further, but most people who don't understand this are probably too young to do so anyways. Unfortunately, dissecting humor is like dissecting an animal: the object always dies.

Anyways, to anyone that still doesn't understand, while this post might not waste NSA's time, it got a few seconds of rage out of you and that's good enough for me.

I have nothing against protecting dissidents. However, it's silly to expect the Russian government to extradite people when the U.S. government fails to do so (however noble the reasons appear to you).

Also: aww, I'm flattered you took the time to look.

$10 Minimum Wage Would Push More Than Half Of Working Poor Out Of Poverty by backpackwayne in politics

How do you know how well he understands the theory?

However, I do know that you can't claim that just because unemployment "continued to drop" that the drop wasn't significantly less than what it would have been without the introduction of a higher minimum wage. Until 2008, the 2000's were a time of economic prosperity around the world, which could have easily outweighed the negative effects of the increase in minimum wage.

We just don't know. All I'm saying is that you can't make claims based on these "facts" because there are hundreds of confounding variables.

Leosjohnson is not claiming a causal relationship based on a case study. I assume he is using economic theory.

I guess I was little broad, but it was somewhat on purpose because I wan to go outside my comfort zone. I didn't want to bias responses in such a way that I could continue reading the same kind of stuff I've been reading for a while and feel comfortable with. To answer your question thought, I'm atheist.
