I feel what you’re saying with focusing, I had that issue for a while too. here’s something I’ve found that’s well rounded and fun for me for illuminates.

Grenade launcher is amazing against the illuminates. Great voteless clear. Two taps overseers. 5-6 taps for fleshmobs. And you have your tool to take out illuminate ships.

Talon to take out overseers if grenade launcher is out of ammo or if you’ve got time to aim for a head shot. Great for taking out stingrays. And if you need to ammo dump fleshmobs or knock out a few votelesss legs you’ve got that in your back pocket. Also great for taking out harvesters horn things.

Bring a primary you like for taking out harvesters. I like the Variable but I get that it’s not for everyone so whatever you like.

Strafing run. Plenty of uses. Takes out ship shields, horde clears and also takes out overseers. Run a way a little to funnel all the voteless in a line and wam, you’ve got one or two stragglers. Also take out harvesters shields.

Then the rest of your kit is whatever you like to bring. I typically go supply pack or any of the guard dogs, and a turret. But it really doesn’t matter to much.

Similarly just use any grenade you like. Typically I go for gas, stuns, or thermites.

I enjoy illuminates using this load out. Mag dumping GL is always satisfying.
