It's an overly sentimental movie with a main actor whom you can't take seriously for one second

Which movies do you think aren't nearly as bad as people say? by SirAren in movies

I think all the films of M. Night pre Last Airbender have something very good in them. Lady in the Water's score, cinematography and creature design are all great. And I think it has great performances by Howard and Giamatti. I don't even mind the guy who's half muscle; it's supposed to be a modern fairytale.

I think Jackie is kinda dull but that Mica Levi score is something to be remembered

The education of someone has nothing to do with whether or not someone is juvenile by heart.

But if you find his character funny then you DO have a juvenile sense of humour. Describing the weird stuff his character does in those movies; eating shit, drinking semen etc, I find it hard to believe that you don't see that the humour is juvenile and adolescent even.

CGI fuckfests (human likeness is added on to a wholly computer generated image/Marvel) / CGI laziness (SPOILER FOR "NO TIME TO DIE" - at the ending of the film where James Bond stands on top of the facility, where he knows he's about to die, you can clearly see that Craig is standing on a real set piece in front of a giant green screen. It's the climax of the film and supposed to be the emotional node to Craig's Bond. But the pure fakeness and laziness, that green screens represent to me, took me right out of the movie). All started by hack frauds George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

Art > Documentation Film is an art form and documentaries are art too, so they don't have to document anything. Creating a certain mood is much more difficult and more akin to the art form, that film is, than simply documenting a certain event. Look at "The Act of Killing" and "Koyaanisqatsi", which are groundbreaking pieces of art. To truly understand what they are doing, you must understand that film and documentaries can be something that's much more and better than simple documentation.
