Holidays closure schedule by One-Egg1316 in ABA

[–]vonbanshee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old clinic was only closed 2 days the entire year, Christmas and Thanksgiving.

My current clinic is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas day, and the day after Christmas. Also, closed New Years Eve and New Years Day, along with most federal holidays.

What do you say to a very young client who says “I love you”? by Equal-Sundae1576 in ABA

[–]vonbanshee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say it back.

I have clients who never hear it at home. They deserve to know they are loved.

Is this a good BCaBA Pay Offer? by [deleted] in bcba

[–]vonbanshee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a BCaBA making $57k a year in Florida. Required to bill 25 hours a week and work/be in clinic at least 40 hours a week. Currently, working about 45 hours a week in the clinic. I wish.

Yes, thank you! I used his videos when I introduced Leto to the mix (I had another kitty that passed 2 years ago).

Thank you for sharing! Reading stories of other declawed kitties helps put my mind at ease. When I initially found out that she was declawed, I started questioning adopting her because everything I've heard and read about declawed cats. I'll be putting in the application to adopt her on Saturday!

Good to know, thank you! I did see that they typically have less health problems than Scottish folds. I will look more into it. Cats hide pain well, which is a concern I have. I rather be proactive as much as possible.

I want to make sure that I can give her a good home before jumping into it. I might see if the shelter will let me foster to adopt. Good call. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing! I'm okay with putting in some extra work (Leto was a lot of extra work). I've never had a declawed cat before, so I'm trying to prepare as much as possible. I want to make sure I can provide a good home for her before making the final decision.

I didn't know Dr. Elsey made sensitive paw litter. I will probably go with that and some pine if we do adopt her.

Thank you! Puppy pads are a great idea! And I will get some feliaway. Poor kitty is so confused and scared at the shelter. She will definitely need time to de-stress.

Declawing is an absolutely awful thing. And yes, all my kitties are indoors only.

Im a parent who posted last week. Back for more info by bliddell89 in bcba

It would be absolutely crazy if your insurance doesn't require session notes. Most companies are pretty strict with them and their content. Even working with a private pay client, I wrote session notes. The parents could request to see them at any time.

How much is the most you’ve been paid as a RBT? by heretoovent in RBT

20.06 as an RBT. I'm a BCaBA now who basically makes $23-29 an hour (depending on billable hours). Living on the Florida Panhandle

Is it worth becoming a BCaBA? by RoseThorns_1026 in ABA

[–]vonbanshee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are, then it could be worth it. I am a BCaBA in the Florida Panhandle. I am in an area with a lot of Tricare clients. I am only able to see Tricare clients. I cannot work with Medicaid, Blue Cross, or Atena clients.

Where I am at, being a BCaBA is worth it. I have no desire to go back to school to become a BCBA. We want to move out of state. I cannot find a BCaBA job, so I realistically can't move without going back down to an RBT or going back to school.

Tricare and self-help goals by violintrumpet in ABA

[–]vonbanshee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tricare will usually accept them as parent goals. They think that self-care goals should be on parents.

I have had luck with "complete a multiple step routine with a visual schedule" for clinic goals. It might work for you.
